DBS Altitude cards earn 4 mpd on bus and train rides for the rest of 2019

Earn 4 miles per dollar on bus, train, taxi or Grab rides and 2.4 miles per dollar on Esso fuel transactions with your DBS Altitude card between now and the end of 2019. Registration is required.

If you commute in Singapore via bus, train, taxi or Grab rides, you may want to consider using your DBS Altitude card between now and the end of 2019 to earn 4 miles per dollar spent in these categories. There’s also a 2.4 miles per dollar offer on fuel when you fill up at Esso stations across the island.

The transport offer

From 1st August 2019 to 31st December 2019 you can earn 4 miles per S$1 when you commute with your DBS Altitude Card, including your bus, train, taxi, Grab and Go-Jek rides. GrabPay is excluded.

To qualify for the promotion the principal cardholder will have to register their card here first.

Bonus miles will be calculated based on transactions made from the month of registration until 31st December 2019.

Singapore MRT Train

Daily rides includes:

  • MCC 4121: Comfort/CityCab Taxi, Grab (not including GrabPay) & GO-JEK
  • MCC 4111: Bus and MRT rides using SimplyGo (note: DBS Altitude Visa only)

2.8 bonus miles per dollar will apply, on top of the regular earn rate of 1.2 miles per dollar (4 mpd total).

The maximum bonus miles in these two categories is capped at S$1,200 spend during the promotion period.

The Esso offer

From 1st August 2019 to 31st December 2019 you can earn 2.4 miles per S$1 when you re-fuel at Esso stations in Singapore.

You are required to spend a minimum of S$300 nett on fuel in a calendar month at Esso service stations in Singapore to qualify for the promotion.

You’ll also have to register your card here first to be eligible (principal cardholder).

The eligible MCC codes at Esso stations in this case are MCC 5541 and MCC 5542. 1.2 bonus miles per dollar will apply, on top of the regular earn rate of 1.2 miles per dollar (2.4 mpd total).

The maximum bonus miles is capped at S$1,600 nett fuel spend during the promotion period.

Can supplementary cardholders take part?

Yes, provided the principal cardholder successfully registers, the spend from purchases made by both main and supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under the main card account. The total bonus cap is unchanged.

When are bonus miles credited?

Base miles are awarded initially for these transactions, but if you successfully register then you’ll receive your bonus miles 90 days after the end of the promotion period. That’s approximately at the end of March 2020.

    1. Same question here as i have been using Samsung Pay instead of the physical card. Hope to know if it is valid for 4mpd. Thanks

    1. I don’t see why mobile payments are excluded. They are captured by Simply Go and you pay that amount under the card
