KrisShop, Singapore Airlines’ “omnichannel” retailer, has a new promotion running this month, with a bonus 500 KrisFlyer miles and S$20 discount for SIA co-brand credit card holders spending at least S$200 practically site-wide at KrisShop.com.

This bonus stacks with regular miles earning of up to 4 mpd for KrisShop purchases as a KrisShopper member, plus up to 1.3 mpd for the payment itself using your SIA co-brand Amex card, for a potential total optimal earning of over 7 mpd if you hit a S$200 spend threshold exactly, before the S$20 discount is considered.

500 Bonus KrisFlyer miles + S$20 discount

This deal is a Christmas exclusive for American Express Singapore Airlines co-brand cardholders for spend using promo code AMEXDEC20 at the checkout stage, when full payment is made with your card.

The promotion period runs for purchases completed from 0.00h on 14th December 2023 to 23.59h on 26th December 2023.

Products by Augustinus Bader are excluded from this promotion, but all other brands are eligible – which is often not the case with these offers.

Purchases can be for inflight delivery on eligible Singapore Airlines or Scoot flights, or for home delivery.

The promotion code is limited to one redemption per customer, and is capped at the first 200 redemptions, so act fast if you are interested in this one, since it may well become fully utilised before the end of the promotion period.

The bonus miles are on top of your regular KrisShop earning, based on your KrisShopper status, but they do not apply to KrisShop via Kris+ purchases – only direct purchases at KrisShop.com are eligible.

Initially you’ll receive KrisFlyer miles at the regular rate into your KrisFlyer account from KrisShop.com purchases (typically the next day). The 500 bonus miles will be credited directly into your KrisFlyer account, within 12 weeks of the promotion end date (i.e. by 19th March 2024).

To participate, you must be an active KrisFlyer member, logged on to your KrisFlyer account on KrisShop.com before completing any applicable transactions.

Transactions where any part of the payment is made using KrisFlyer miles, with a KrisShop e-gift card, with or eVouchers issued by KrisShop or Singapore Airlines will not be eligible for this promotion, even if the amount spend on your co-brand Amex card exceeds S$200.

You must make full payment with your SIA co-brand Amex card.

Standard three-day local delivery in Singapore is free for KrisShop purchases of S$75 or more, but remember GST is added at the check out stage, because KrisShop is a Duty Free store. The S$200 minimum spend referred to in this promotion is a nett amount, and therefore relates to the pre-GST subtotal.

KrisShop isn’t always the cheapest option

One important thing to consider is that KrisShop isn’t always the cheapest place to source items, with some heavy markups applied in some cases.

Make sure you shop around before committing, to ensure you’re either getting the cheapest deal anyway, or that the miles you are earning by using KrisShop instead of a cheaper alternative outweigh any additional cash cost.
