The Singapore Airlines KrisShop has a new offer running over the next few days with bonus KrisFlyer miles on purchases, which means earning at least 3 mpd instead of the usual 1.5 mpd, or up to 6 mpd as a top-tier KrisShopper member, in addition to up to 6 mpd when you use the right credit card to pay.

This allows top-tier KrisShopper Ambassador members to earn a total of 12 mpd when paying with a 6 mpd credit card.

This flash deal is only available for five days, and is subject to a minimum spend of S$300, but it is uncapped so there is no upper limit on how many miles you can earn.

Even if you are eyeing a product at KrisShop that is priced a little higher than on other sites, it is worth calculating whether the miles accrued under this offer are worth more than the difference in cost, though do be aware there are some brand exclusions in force.

2x KrisFlyer miles

KrisShop’s January Joy offer includes this 2x bonus KrisFlyer miles deal, but only for purchases made between 4th January 2024 at 0.00h SGT and 8th January 2024 at 23.59h SGT.

Your purchase must be a minimum of S$300 after all applicable discounts have been applied and excluding applicable tax and shipping fees.

The purchase of KrisShop E-gift Cards is also excluded from the promotion.

Non-members of the KrisShopper programme will earn 3 mpd during this promotion whether purchasing at KrisShop.com or at KrisShop on the Kris+ mobile app.

Members of the KrisShopper programme will earn 4 mpd to 6 mpd during this promotion, depending on their status tier, but only for purchases made while logged on to their KrisFlyer account at KrisShop.com.

That means if you’re a KrisShopper member, don’t make a purchase via the Kris+ app – this bonus deal is only good for KrisShop.com purchases in your case.

Regardless of whether you use KrisShop.com or the Kris+ mobile app to make your purchase, initially only the regular miles rate will be credited to your KrisFlyer or KrisPay account in the usual way.

Bonus KrisFlyer miles earned as part of this promotion will then be credited directly into your KrisFlyer account as KrisFlyer miles within 12 weeks of the promotion end date, which is by 1st April 2024.

Use the right credit card for up to 12 mpd

KrisShop purchases code under MCC 5309: Duty Free Stores, and that means you can tap into some bonus earn rates with a variety of Singapore credit cards, subject to their monthly requirements and spending caps.

Those miles are issued by your bank, so they come on top of up to 6 mpd KrisShop is offering with this promotion, and that means up to 12 mpd total effective earning on a wide range of products.

Note: Total earning will never quite hit 12 mpd (6 + 6), because Kris+ does not award miles on the GST component for any products purchased.

Note that the Citi Rewards card should not be used to make in-app payments on Kris+, since mobile wallet payments are specifically excluded from bonus miles earning, regardless of the merchant MCC.

However, using the Citi Rewards card directly at KrisShop.com will attract the card’s 4 mpd bonus rate.

For example, here’s what you’ll earn using an HSBC Revolution card at KrisShop.com for a S$300 + GST purchase (S$327 including GST), for a KrisShopper Ambassador status holder (+2 mpd on the regular earn rate).

That’s an impressive 9.5 mpd on a S$327 purchase, with 3,108 miles worth over S$55 ‘value back’ in KrisFlyer miles against a future redemption, assuming 1.8 cents per mile is achieved.

For the next five days you can earn at least 3 mpd and up to 6 mpd for purchases of S$300 or more at the KrisShop, which stacks with credit card earning of up to a further 6 mpd, meaning 12 mpd in total for some.

There is no upper cap to the miles earned from KrisShop, though each transaction during the promotion must be at least S$300 after discounts but before taxes and delivery charges are accounted for.

Bonus KrisFlyer miles earned as part of this promotion will be credited directly into your KrisFlyer account within 12 weeks of the promotion end date.

Do note the brand exclusions and be careful to shop around – KrisShop often isn’t the cheapest place to source an item, so the miles you are earning must be able to justify any difference if you’re spending more than you could elsewhere.
