Back in 2023, HoteLux formed a partnership with the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer programme, which kicked off with a status match offer for KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members into the hotel booking app’s Elite and Elite Plus tiers for 12 months.

This was quickly followed by the ability to transfer your HoteLux points into KrisFlyer miles – though admittedly not at a very attractive rate.

For those unaware, HoteLux is a hotel booking app that allows you to access travel advisor rates at over 4,000 luxury hotels worldwide.

This allows you to tap rates from the likes of Virtuoso, Marriott STARS and Rosewood Elite, including things like third night free offers, additional hotel credit, and elite membership perks, often at the hotel’s best available rate.

Now HoteLux is offering a new KrisFlyer promotion, with 1,000 miles awarded for each booking, while the status match has also made a return for 2024.

1,000 Bonus KrisFlyer miles per booking

For bookings made between now and 28th September 2024, with stay dates through to 1st January 2025, elite tier HoteLux members can earn 1,000 KrisFlyer miles for each qualified stay.

The following HoteLux members are eligible:

• HoteLux Elite
• HoteLux Elite Plus
• HoteLux 1A Club

Non-HoteLux members must join the membership programme and upgrade to Elite status in order to qualify for the offer (read on for the KrisFlyer status match opportunity).

To participate, you’ll need to register your KrisFlyer membership number on the campaign landing page via the HoteLux app when logged on to your account, between now and 28th September 2024.

All qualified stays will then be awarded with the 1,000 KrisFlyer miles check-out bonus within 30 days of completion of each stay, with the following conditions:

• Register via the app between 22nd June 2024 and 28th September 2024 inclusive
• Book your stay between 22nd June 2024 and 28th September 2024 inclusive
• Stay period must be between 22nd June 2024 and 1st January 2025 inclusive
• Advance Online Payment is required.
• Eligible stays are at hotels booked via the HoteLux app which have member benefits on offer.
• Consecutive stays / nights at the same hotel, regardless of how many bookings are made, how many room type changes occur, and regardless of check-in and check-out times, will only be counted as one stay.
• Multiple bookings at the same hotel on the same date are eligible. In this case, 1,000 KrisFlyer bonus miles will be issued based on the number of rooms stayed.
• Bookings made with a voucher are not eligible for the bonus KrisFlyer miles.

The major downsides for this promotion are that only fully prepaid bookings are eligible, and you can’t use a voucher either, but if these aren’t big concerns for you then the offer could be good for accruing some additional miles on your hotel stays for the rest of the year.

Status match is back for 2024

Towards the end of last year, HoteLux was offering a status match for Singapore Airlines frequent flyers holding KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club status.

The good news is this deal is back between now and the end of 2024.

Your status tier will be upgraded to HoteLux Elite or HoteLux Elite Plus for 12 months, based on your existing KrisFlyer or PPS status tier.

A 12-month subscription to HoteLux Elite usually costs US$349, while HoteLux Elite Plus costs US$499.

You must submit your status match request no later than 31st December 2024, so if you’re a KrisFlyer Elite Gold member on your way to PPS Club membership and will hit that tier before the end of the year, it may be better to hold off applying until then, to score HoteLux Elite Plus.

To retain your status after the 12-month match expires you will need to earn a specific number of qualifying nights booked through HoteLux within the upgraded membership year, as follows.

Do note that you won’t be eligible for this status match if you have participated in a previous HoteLux status match, or have received an “Elite Status Exception” in the past.

Transfer HoteLux points to KrisFlyer miles

As part of this partnership, you also convert your HoteLux Points into KrisFlyer miles, but unfortunately the conversion ratios are not very attractive.

HoteLux points are worth US$0.09 (around S$0.12) each as room vouchers against future stays, in the following denominations:

• US$400 voucher for 4,399 Points
• US$500 voucher for 5,499 Points
• US$600 voucher for 6,599 Points
• US$700 voucher for 7,699 Points
• US$800 voucher for 8,799 Points

Points can be used as part payment for a booking – so you can use the US$400 voucher, for example, for a stay of US$450 (you’ll simply pay the rest separately in this case).

That is usually much better value than you’ll achieve when converting them to KrisFlyer miles.

Otherwise you are effectively ‘buying’ KrisFlyer miles at the following rates:

• Elite: 4 Singapore cents per mile
• Elite Plus: 3 Singapore cents per mile
• A1 Club: 2.4 Singapore cents per mile

That’s unlikely to be of any interest to our readers, since you’ll almost never realise such high valuations for your miles, even when used for future First and Business Class flight redemptions.

However, a transfer of 4,000 HoteLux points to KrisFlyer miles does give you the option to ‘cash out’ a volume of HoteLux points that’s insufficient for a hotel room voucher. That’s perhaps useful if you’ve decided you won’t be adding to your HoteLux Points balance in future.

If you do wish to convert, simply do so via the HoteLux app by clicking your profile name at the top left of the screen after logging in, then clicking on Redeem KrisFlyer Miles.

You will then need to enter your KrisFlyer account membership number and your first and last name as they are registered with KrisFlyer to initiate the transfer.

HoteLux is offering 1,000 KrisFlyer miles for each pre-paid hotel booking made between now and 1st January 2025, which could be of interest to Elite members in the programme with travel plans coming up.

There’s also a return for the status match offer, allowing members to access Elite membership tiers as a KrisFlyer Elite Gold or PPS Club member for 12 months for free between now and the end of 2024.

The big benefit of HoteLux isn’t that it offers anything luxury travel advisors can’t, but that the whole process can be completed quickly and directly though its mobile app, without the need to pick up the phone or rely and back-and-forth emails.
