The SIA “lifestyle app” Kris+ has a new bonus miles offer this month, with up to 500 KrisFlyer miles on offer in addition to regular earning and credit card points when you spend at least S$5 per transaction at multiple partner outlets over the next two weeks.
At least 100 bonus miles are relatively easily available for spending at just two unique brands across the city, something you might well regularly be doing anyway, with the maximum bonus of 500 miles if you notch up spend at six or more brands during this period.
Kris+ MILEstone Quest
From 1st September to 15th September 2024, Kris+ is offering between 100 and 500 bonus miles when you spend a minimum of S$5 at two or more unique brands accepting Kris+ payment across the city.

While the brands you visit need to be unique (rather than just additional outlets under the same brand), they do not have to be ones you have never used Kris+ at before.
For example if you use the app to grab a coffee at Paris Baguette each morning on your way to work, you can register for the promotion and your first purchase there ticks off the first unique merchant on your list, even though you’re a regular Kris+ user there.
Here’s how the bonus miles are awarded, depending on the number of unique brands you spend at between 1st September 2024 and 15th September 2024.

| Unique brands visited | Bonus miles |
| 1 | – |
| 2 | 100 |
| 3 | 200 |
| 4 | 300 |
| 5 | 400 |
| 6+ | 500 |
For the avoidance of doubt, these bonus miles aren’t cumulative. Only the total number of unique brands you have ticked off during the promotion will determine the number of bonus miles you will be awarded (e.g. 5 unique brands = 400 bonus miles).
Bonus miles can be transferred into KrisFlyer miles, within 21 days of crediting as KrisPay miles to your Kris+ account.
Registration is necessary
You’ll have to register for this challenge at the Kris+ app, by clicking on MILEstone Quest under the ‘Ongoing Promotions’ section of the homepage.

Click the START CHALLENGE button and you’ll then be able to register for the promotion.
There is no upper cap for this deal, but unique brands you then visit and spend at least S$5 at via the Kris+ app will only start being counted after you enrol.
Here’s how it works:
- Enrol for the offer via the Kris+ app
- Spend at least S$5 at any partner outlet to complete your enrolment (no bonus miles for the first partner payment)
- Spend at least S$5 at up to five additional unique partner outlets between now and 15th September 2024
- Bonus miles based on the number of unique outlets you visited will be credited to your Kris+ account as KrisPay miles on 20th September 2024
- Bonus miles can be transferred to KrisFlyer miles, within 21 days of being credited
You’ll still get the partner’s regular miles earn rate credited instantly to you for your purchase, before the bonus comes in later.
Note that you won’t be able to track the number of qualifying unique brand payments you have made under the MILEstone Challenge page on the Kris+ app, but you can check your progress via the Wallet > Transaction History page.
Full terms and conditions for the MILEstone Quest promotion can be found here.
Which partners?
All Kris+ partners that accept payments through the Kris+ app via Apple Pay (for iOS devices) or Google Pay (for Android devices) in Singapore are eligible during this promotion, except for Pelago and D’cuisines.
Here’s our latest list of all Kris+ merchants and their respective regular earn rates, before credit card points and miles are accounted for, as of 24th August 2024.
As you can see there are currently 435 unique brands allowing Kris+ miles earning in the programme, with over 1,600 outlets between them, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find 6 unique brands to spend at during this promotion.
Which card to use for Kris+ purchases
Many bonus credit cards in Singapore earn at their top rate for Kris+ transactions, either for all spend or for purchases in selected Merchant Category Codes (MCCs).
That includes when making purchases (of at least S$5) during this MILEstone Quest promotion.
For some cards it’s a little complicated, because the payment you make in-app will tag under the merchant’s MCC, so you’ll need to be confident it qualifies prior to your purchase, but there are some cards that earn at their top rate for all Kris+ spend too.
Here’s how some of these cards earn for Kris+ payments, within their monthly spend caps. You can check the MCC with the merchant in advance of your payment if necessary, though some are obvious (like restaurants – 5812).

Bonus miles will be awarded on 20th September 2024 and can then be transferred to KrisFlyer miles, which is exactly what you should be doing with them for best value.

Unrelated to this post, but could anyone here / Andrew please advise regarding lounge benefits when flying Virgin Atlantic economy as KFEG? Did a deep search but couldn’t find too much info on it.
If I am not wrong I believe KFEG members could earlier use the SKL at LHR even if they’re flying VS Y? I know we can’t use the VS Clubhouse at LHR with the new policy – but how about at other airports without Clubhouses?
For example I was flying RT MIA – LHR – DEL, what would my lounge access look like at DEL on the return leg?
There are some corrections to be made, for instance the fact that HSBC has nerfed MCC 5411, 5499 and 5814 and that the Citi Rewards can now be paired with Amaze — even on iPhones (which wasn’t possible until July) — to circumvent the in-app restrictions.
