KrisFlyer miles can now be transferred to Accor Live Limitless Points

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles can now be instantly converted to Accor Live Limitless ALL points, but the transfer ratio is poor.

There’s now a new redemption option for your Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles, with the programme’s link to Accor Live Limitless ALL points now enhanced for members as a two-way transfer partnership.

That means you can now transfer your KrisFlyer miles into ALL points, as well as converting from ALL to KrisFlyer, the latter option having been possible for some time.

The transfer ratio

You’ll receive 2 ALL points for every 9 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles you convert.

Transfer Ratio
KrisFlyer miles    ALL points
9 : 2

You’ll need to convert a minimum of 4,500 KrisFlyer miles to ALL points per transfer, thereafter transfers can be made in single-mile increments.

An upper cap of 180,000 KrisFlyer miles transferred per calendar year (1 Jan – 31 Dec) applies. Transfers are instant, which is nice.

It also remains possible to transfer your Accor ALL points to KrisFlyer miles at a 2:1 ratio, making this a new two-way conversion option.

Singapore credit card holders with HSBC and OCBC cards can also transfer into the Accor Live Limitless programme.

How to transfer

To transfer your KrisFlyer miles to Accor ALL points, log on via the desktop site, then go to Miles > How To Use.

Unlike with some other partners, there is no need to link your Accor ALL account and KrisFlyer account prior to making a transfer, that will happen once the first successful transfer is made.

Simply scroll down to ‘Other redemption options’ and click the ALL – Accor Live Limitless link.

Then complete the conversion form, including your Accor ALL account membership number.

Note that KrisFlyer to Accor ALL conversions are only available between 6.00am and 11.59pm Singapore Time each day.

You’ll need to ensure that the name on your KrisFlyer and Accor ALL membership accounts match, in order for the transfer to be successful.

After your first successful conversion, your KrisFlyer account will be automatically linked to your ALL account. Once the accounts are linked, this may not be changed.

Transfers from KrisFlyer miles to Accor ALL points are instant, but do note the 6am – 11.59pm Singapore Time conversion window each day (i.e. transfers are not supported between midnight and 5.59am each day).

Is it worth it?

Not really.

Accor Live Limitless ALL points have a fixed value, with redemption as a hotel credit at 2,000 points = €40 (around S$58).

That makes each point worth 2.9 Singapore cents at current exchange rates.

It means with a 9:2 transfer ratio you would be cashing out your KrisFlyer miles at 0.64 Singapore cents each, which is among the worst value you can get from them.

Here’s how it looks against the other options.

Even a transfer to KrisPay miles in the Kris+ app will get you 0.67 cents per mile valuation against future purchases at a wide range of stores across Singapore, while on the hotel side a KrisFlyer vRooms hotel redemption stay will net around 0.8 cents of value per mile.

On the plus side, an Accor ALL transfer does come in with a better value than a transfer to Marriott Bonvoy points, and to Esso Smiles points, though there are clearly better options available.

Moreover, a value of 1.9 cents+ remains possible with the best redemption of all – a First Class or Business Class award on Singapore Airlines, which is what you should always try to achieve even if your miles are expiring.

As mentioned earlier in the article, it’s still possible to transfer Accor Live Limitless points to KrisFlyer miles, at a 2:1 ratio.

Transfer Ratio
ALL points    KrisFlyer miles
2 : 1

Transfers must be made in 2,000-point blocks (to 1,000 KrisFlyer miles per block).

Since you’re sacrificing around S$58 in hotel credits to achieve 1,000 KrisFlyer miles for each block converted, you would have to value KrisFlyer miles at an insanely high 5.8 cents each to consider this transfer, which is clearly not worthwhile.

You can now transfer KrisFlyer miles to 31 other FFPs (but don’t!)

The ability to transfer KrisFlyer miles into Accor ALL points opens up an interesting opportunity to effectively transfer from KrisFlyer into 31 other frequent flyer programmes (FFPs).

That’s because Accor ALL points can be transferred into other FFPs as well as KrisFlyer, like Avianca LifeMiles, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, TAP Air Portugal and United MileagePlus.

For example, if you transfer 9,000 KrisFlyer miles into Accor ALL, you’ll have 2,000 points in the programme. These can then be transferred into 2,000 Flying Blue points.

That’s an awful 9:2 ratio, so of course it’s of absolutely no value, but it’s interesting that this wide range of transfers from KrisFlyer (via Accor) is now possible.

Summary

You can now transfer your KrisFlyer miles to Accor Live Limitless points, but unfortunately the 9:2 transfer ratio is not attractive, and ranks this among of the worst ways you can cash out your miles given the programme’s fixed value model for points redemption as hotel credits.

Converting your KrisFlyer miles to be used as a cash equivalent is never good value, with options like offsetting the cost of a Singapore Airlines cash ticket at 1 cent per mile and purchases from the KrisShop at 0.8 cents per mile.

The valuation reached a new low with the launch of KrisPay in July 2018, at a paltry 0.67 cents per mile, but worse options have since appeared on the list including Marriott Bonvoy transfers, and now Accor ALL points transfers too.

Perhaps a double miles transfer promotion, where a 9:4 ratio was offered, might make the deal of interest to some people, but otherwise this isn’t an option to get excited about, just like ALL points to KrisFlyer transfers also make little sense.

  1. Singapore airlines keeps adding these completely pointless conversions which no one ever does because they are such bad value. Krisflyer is a shadow of it’s former self and fast becoming one of the worst ff programs. Near impossible to book saver redemptions unless a year out…constant wait-list that never comes through. Over crowded lounges that at business level are no where near the competition quality.
