Earlier this month Singapore Airlines launched a range of promotions to celebrate reaching 10 million members in its KrisFlyer loyalty programme, and it’s time for a quick reminder because one of those – a 50% bonus miles accrual deal – has only just gone live for bookings made over the next week.
This is a similar offer to the one SIA ran back in 2024, to celebrate KrisFlyer’s 25th birthday, but the key difference this time round is that the 50% bonus miles applies when taking Scoot flights as well, not just Singapore Airlines ones.
50% Bonus miles on Singapore Airlines and Scoot
Here are the key details of the promotion, which is now effective for bookings made via official channels.

| Promotion | 50% Bonus KrisFlyer Miles on Singapore Airlines & Scoot Flights |
| Booking Period | 24th March 2025 to 31st March 2025 |
| Travel Period | 1st April 2025 to 31st October 2025 |
| Eligible Flights | SIA and Scoot flights booked directly through official channels |
| Cap | 5,000 miles bonus per flight segment |
Unfortunately there is a 5,000 miles cap on the bonus, per sector flown, though the deal is eligible for all fare types.
Despite that, it’s almost impossible to hit the cap when travelling on an Economy Class fare, or when flying with Scoot.
Only those in SIA’s premium cabins, especially Business Class or First Class / Suites on long-haul flights, would hit the cap before the full 50% bonus is attained.

When flying with Scoot, you’ll earn 1 KrisFlyer mile per Singapore Dollar of the base fare charged, plus any add-ons like checked baggage, and advance seat selection.
If you are travelling on a mixed itinerary containing both Scoot and Singapore Airlines sectors, you earn KrisFlyer miles for the Singapore Airlines sectors based on the table above, and on the Scoot sectors based on a percentage of the actual miles flown on Scoot, and your Scoot booking class (see here for more details).
Example earning with bonus
The 50% bonus applies to actual base KrisFlyer miles earned on the flight.
Elite status bonuses and other promotions do not stack with this offer, nor is there any bonus on Elite miles earning for KrisFlyer members.
Here’s an example for Singapore Airlines:

- A Singapore Airlines Economy Flexi fare from Singapore to Tokyo typically earns 3,329 miles. With this promotion, you would receive an additional 1,664 bonus miles, totalling 4,993 miles.
- A KrisFlyer Elite Gold member on the above flight would earn an extra 832 miles status bonus on the base miles (3,329 x 25%), but not on the 50% bonus, for a total haul of 5,825 miles.

Here’s an example for Scoot:

- A Scoot Economy fare from Singapore to Bali earning 600 miles (example base fare plus extras) would receive an additional 300 bonus miles, totalling 900 miles.
- A KrisFlyer Elite Gold member on the above flight would earn an extra 150 miles status bonus on the base miles (600 x 25%), but not on the 50% bonus, for a total haul of 1,100 miles.
Eligible booking channels
In order to be eligible for this bonus miles promotion, your ticket must be purchased via one of the following official channels:
- Singapore Airlines website or mobile app
- Scoot website or mobile app
Bookings made through travel agents, Singapore Airlines ticket offices, or third-party sites such as Expedia or Kayak are not eligible for the promotion.
When will you receive the bonus miles?
Bonus miles accrued from this promotion will be awarded after you travel, and they “may take up to four weeks to be credited”, though based on last year’s deal we expect it will probably be quicker than that.
If your bonus miles are still missing from your account after four weeks, you can submit a retroactive claim request by logging into your KrisFlyer account and completing the form under the “Make a claim” section, within six months of the the relevant flight.
Is it a good deal?
This promotion offers an great opportunity to accelerate your KrisFlyer miles accumulation, particularly on long-haul and premium cabin flights with SIA, where base miles earning is highest.

If you have upcoming travel plans with Singapore Airlines or Scoot, booking during this promotion (i.e. between now and 31st March 2025) can help you maximise these rewards, without any additional cost, but do note the relatively tight booking window!

The key terms for this offer are:

- Tickets must be issued in the name of the registered KrisFlyer member.
- Bonus miles apply only to base KrisFlyer miles earned and are not applicable to status bonus miles for Elite members.

40% Spontaneous Escapes discount is still live
One of the more exciting parts of KrisFlyer’s 10 million member celebration is arguably the latest Spontaneous Escapes deal, for travel in April 2025.
This one was launched a couple of weeks ago, and remains valid for bookings made between now and 31st March 2025.
There are still plenty of seats available at 40% off if you’re able to make short-term travel plans for a getaway in April, so do take a look at the full list and remember to book by the end of the month – after that the discount will disappear.
Summary
This 50% bonus miles promotion is a straightforward way to boost your KrisFlyer miles balance, if you have travel planned between April and October 2025.
Do note that the booking window is tight – you’ll have to lock in your SIA or Scoot booking via an official channel between now and 31st March 2025, but with travel validity through to 31st October 2025, this is potentially an easy way to earn extra miles on flights you may already be booking anyway.
Don’t forget that SIA’s 40% off Spontaneous Escapes deal is also still live for the next week, if you’re interested in booking April travel on selected routes.
