The Singapore – Jeju route is set to become more competitive, as Korean low-cost carrier T’way Air prepares to launch direct flights to the popular island destination from mid-August 2025, giving SIA low-cost carrier Scoot some much-needed competition on the route.
T’way Air will become the second carrier offering non-stop services between the Lion City and Korea’s largest island, famous for its volcanic landscapes, beaches, and UNESCO World Heritage sites.
The carrier’s entry into this market comes as part of the airline’s broader expansion of Singapore services, following the apparent success of its second daily Singapore – Seoul flight, launched back in December 2024.
The schedule
T’way Air will initially operate five times weekly on the route from 15th August 2025, before increasing to daily flights from 3rd September 2025.
Here’s how T’way Air’s schedule looks on this new Singapore – Jeju option, from mid-August 2025.

The early morning departure from Singapore at 2.15am lands in Jeju at 9.20am the same day, with a flight time of around 6 hours.
On the return leg, the airline offers a more convenient evening departure from Jeju at 7.50pm, arriving in Singapore just before 1am the following morning, after a flight time of approximately 5 hours 55 minutes.
T’way Air operates to and from Terminal 3 at Singapore Changi Airport, the same terminal used for the airline’s Singapore – Seoul services.
At 4,264km, this route represents a notable addition to T’way Air’s Southeast Asian network, though it is shorter than the airline’s existing Singapore – Seoul flights which come in at 4,614km.
Aircraft and cabin
T’way Air will deploy Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft on the Singapore – Jeju route, a departure from the wide-body Airbus A330s used on its Singapore – Seoul services.

While T’way Air’s A330s feature the airline’s inherited flat-bed ‘Business Class’ product at competitive rates, its 737-8 MAX aircraft used on the Jeju route will offer a more traditional low-cost carrier experience, with a 189-seat all-Economy configuration in a 3-3 layout.

Seat width is 29 – 30 inches and seat width is 16.8 – 17.2 inches, while a device holder and USB-A charging socket is available at each seat.
Scoot’s A321neo aircraft serving Jeju come with some trade-offs: no in-seat power and a tighter 28-inch seat pitch. The upside is a wider cabin allowing for 17.7-inch seat width – at least half an inch more generous than what T’way offers.
Competition on the route
Currently, Scoot is the only airline operating non-stop flights between Singapore and Jeju, using Airbus A321neo aircraft on a five-times-weekly schedule.

While SIA’s low cost carrier operates a similar timing to T’way Air from Singapore to Jeju, its return service operates in the morning, landing back at Changi around lunchtime.

T’way Air’s entry will certainly provide welcome competition and additional capacity on this leisure-focused route, particularly during peak travel periods when demand for Jeju flights can be high.
The Korean island destination has become increasingly popular with Singaporean travellers in recent years.
T’way Air’s Singapore expansion
This new Jeju service complements T’way Air’s existing double-daily Singapore – Seoul flights, which originally launched as a single daily service back in May 2022 with significant fanfare – due to the airline’s budget flat-bed Business Class offering.
The Seoul route has proven successful for T’way, with the airline using Airbus A330 aircraft to offer a premium experience at competitive prices.
Once operational, these new services will bring total weekly passenger flights between Singapore and South Korea to 93, including 12 weekly flights to and from Jeju alone. This compares to just 64 weekly South Korea flights before COVID-19, when Jeju wasn’t even served from Changi Airport.
Fares and booking
Launch fares for T’way Air’s new Singapore – Jeju flights are as follows, for the airline’s Economy Class ‘Event Fare’, which includes 10kg hand luggage and 15kg checked baggage allowance:
- Singapore – Jeju: From S$195
- Jeju – Singapore: From S$110
That’s relatively competitive pricing to challenge Scoot’s position on the route, with Scoot’s fares coming in at S$179 and S$120 respectively, but with no complimentary checked luggage allowance.
Additionally, a limited–time S$50 off Early Bird Voucher is available for download at this link on the T’way website between now and 30th June 2025, valid on bookings of S$400 or more in total, for travel between 15th August and 25th October 2025.
With both carriers adopting a low-cost model, aside from the inclusion of some checked baggage with T’way’s basic fares, you can expect to pay more for specific seat selection, additional bags and meals on board, whichever airline you choose on this route.
Singaporeans don’t need an ETA to visit South Korea
The launch of T’way Air’s Jeju flights comes at a good time, with South Korea recently extending its K-ETA waiver for Singaporean visitors until at least 31st December 2025.
This means Singaporean passport holders can visit South Korea without the need for an Electronic Travel Authorization, avoiding both the application process and the 10,000 KRW (~S$10) fee per person.
Travellers holding 21 other nationalities including those with passports issued in Australia, Germany, the USA, and the UK are also exempt.
You need only complete a paper arrival card or submit an e-Arrival card online before travel.
Summary
T’way Air’s launch of Singapore – Jeju flights from August 2025 represents another expansion of Korean travel options from Singapore, also bringing much-needed competition to a route currently monopolised by Scoot for the last three years.
Operating five times weekly initially before increasing to daily service, T’way Air will use Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft to serve this 6-hour journey, offering convenient timing with evening departures from Jeju but the same early morning red-eye flights as Scoot in the Singapore – Jeju direction.
This addition will sit alongside T’way Air’s existing twice-daily Singapore – Seoul services featuring ‘budget’ flat-bed Business Class seats.
For Singapore-based travellers, the new service promises increased flight options and potentially more competitive fares to one of Asia’s most popular island destinations, particularly during peak travel periods when current capacity often falls short of demand.
