KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards were introduced back in early 2021, replacing the old Elite Gold Rewards as the extra perks Singapore Airlines offers when you reach specific Elite miles accrual thresholds, within a 12-month qualification period.
The biggest change with this revamp was that Milestone Rewards are now available to members across all three KrisFlyer tiers, not just Elite Golds. That means instead of waiting until you qualify for a new status level, you’ll pick up smaller rewards along the way – for example at the 5,000, 10,000, and 20,000 Elite miles marks.
With up to 10 different milestones to hit as you follow the road to status upgrade or requalification, exactly what you get and when can be a little confusing, so here’s our comprehensive breakdown of this perk.
The basics of Milestone Rewards
There are some principal considerations to be aware of from the outset with Milestone Rewards:
- Elite miles earned through flying to achieve Milestone Rewards only considers your accrual on Singapore Airlines and Scoot flights – not other Elite miles earning partners, like Star Alliance carriers.
- Elite miles accrued through on-ground spend with selected SIA Group partners since September 2025 also count towards tracking of Milestone Rewards, up to an annual cap.
- Milestone Rewards are awarded based on Elite miles accrued in a calendar year (1st January to 31st December) – not your membership year – which may be different.
Elite miles earning rates
To unlock KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards, you’ll have to earn Elite miles in the programme.
You can earn an unlimited number of those when flying with Singapore Airlines based on cabin class, fare code and distance flown, as outlined in the following table.

When flying on Scoot as a KrisFlyer member, distance flown becomes irrelevant. Instead you will earn a fixed 2.5 Elite Miles for every S$1 spent on the fare, excluding taxes.
In the above example, 995 Elite Miles are earned for this booking (the base fare of S$398 x 2.5).
If you are travelling on a mixed itinerary containing both Scoot and Singapore Airlines sector(s), you earn Elite miles for the Singapore Airlines sectors based on the table above, but on the Scoot sectors based on a percentage of the actual miles flown on Scoot, and your Scoot booking class, as shown below.

Regardless of which airline you’re flying with, you must credit miles from your flight to your KrisFlyer account in order to earn Elite miles.
You won’t earn Elite miles, for example, if you credit a Singapore Airlines flight to your Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles account.
Elite miles are not earned when flying on award tickets.
Since September 2025, it’s also become possible to earn Elite miles through selected on-ground spend with Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago, subject to an upper cap.

The KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards
Here’s a summary of the 10 KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards you can accrue as you earn Elite miles during the year.
The gifts start small, but get progressively more attractive the more Elite miles you earn, though it’s safe to say none of them are generous in any life-changing sense and we doubt many members will particularly strive to attain them.
Nonetheless they are nice to have and Milestone Rewards start at only 1,000 Elite Miles earned.

Again, do remember that Elite miles earned on other Star Alliance airlines and eligible SIA partner airlines will continue to count towards your Elite Silver and Elite Gold status qualification / requalification, however they are not included in the calculation for Milestone Rewards.

Tracking your Milestone Rewards
Simply log on to your KrisFlyer account summary via the website or mobile app and click on “Rewards and Vouchers” to check your progress through the chocolate wheel during the year.
KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated, so you don’t have to use them within the calendar year of accrual (e.g. an award unlocked in November 2024 is valid for use until November 2025).
To use a Milestone Reward, log in to your account the same way we described above and you’ll see a list of those those you’re eligible to apply, alongside any you have used already.
Milestone Rewards can be extended
You can extend the validity of a Milestone Reward that is approaching expiry by a further three months, by selecting the ‘Extend Validity’ option, even though the terms and conditions state that extension is not permitted.

Summary
KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards offer a nice way to earn incremental perks as you work towards status qualification or requalification with Singapore Airlines. While the rewards themselves aren’t particularly generous – ranging from small discount vouchers to bonus miles and upgrade certificates – they do provide some additional value for members at every tier level.
The key thing to remember is that only Elite miles earned on Singapore Airlines and Scoot flights, or via certain SIA Group on-ground spending, count towards these milestones (i.e. not flights with Star Alliance airlines or other partners).
Also note that the tracking period runs on a calendar year basis, and that rewards are valid for 12 months from issue.
For most travellers, Milestone Rewards are simply a pleasant bonus rather than a reason to change your flying patterns, but they’re certainly worth claiming when you reach each threshold. Just remember to keep track of your progress through your KrisFlyer account and use your rewards before they expire – though the ability to extend validity by three months does provide some additional flexibility.
