Th Bank of China (BOC) Elite Miles card is shaking up the miles scene in Singapore once again, thanks to a recent hike in its earn rates to generous levels and now with a new limited-time promotion offering up to 8.8 mpd on selected spend categories, valid from 20th September 2025 to 31st December 2025.
That’s a serious headline earn rate, provided you can hit the minimum spend requirement each month and don’t mind a few caveats buried in the T&Cs.
Promotion basics
From 20th September 2025 to 31st December 2025, existing BOC Elite Miles principal cardholders will earn a bonus 30 BOC Points (equivalent to 6 KrisFlyer miles) per S$1 of spend in the following categories:
- Overseas spend (including FCY online transactions with non-SG payment gateways)
- Online spend (including Kris+, but excluding stored-value wallet top-ups like Amaze and YouTrip)
- Dining spend (restaurants coded under MCC 5812 only, but not hotel dining, wedding banquets, or fast food)
- Spend with Singapore Airlines, Scoot, KrisShop and Pelago

To trigger the bonus, you’ll need to charge at least S$1,000 in total spend to your card per calendar month, in either bonus or non-bonus categories.
The promo is capped at 30,000 KrisFlyer miles per calendar month, which means you can max out the bonus with S$5,000 of qualifying spend in a month.
Maxing out the S$5,000 monthly cap in eligible categories for four months could yield up to 120,000 bonus KrisFlyer miles, plus uncapped base miles, making this a highly rewarding offer for those who can navigate the process – there are a few caveats to note below!
The promotion seems to exclude new cardholders, with BOC stating it is only open to “all existing principal cardmembers of a BOC Elite Miles World Mastercard” as of 20th September 2025.
Effective earn rates
The BOC Elite Miles card recently hiked its base earn rates, as we reported back in June this year.
That transformed the card from one of the worst on the market to one of the best for general spend, with the following earn rate increases:
- Local spend: 1.4 mpd (up from 1 mpd)
- Overseas spend (FCY): 2.8 mpd (up from 2 mpd)
With this promotion, you’ll stack an extra 6 mpd on top of the latest earn rates when spending in specified categories, meaning:

| BOC Elite Miles Earn & Spend Promotion 2025 |
||||
| Spend category | Base earn rate | Promo bonus | Total earn rate | |
| Overseas | FCY | 2.8 mpd | +6 mpd | 8.8 mpd |
| Online | SGD | 1.4 mpd | +6 mpd | 7.4 mpd |
| FCY | 2.8 mpd | +6 mpd | 8.8 mpd | |
| Dining | SGD | 1.4 mpd | +6 mpd | 7.4 mpd |
| FCY | 2.8 mpd | +6 mpd | 8.8 mpd | |
| SIA Group* | SGD | 1.4 mpd | +6 mpd | 7.4 mpd |
* SIA, Scoot, KrisShop, Pelago
That headline 8.8 mpd earn rate makes this the most generous miles card promotion on the market in Singapore right now, and for some time, well outpacing regular 4-6 mpd promotions for other bonus credit cards.
Note that while the bonus 6 mpd under this promotion is capped at S$5,000 spend per month, there is no cap on the year-round base 1.4 mpd / 2.8 mpd earn rates with this card, which will continue to be earned for any excess spend above that level in the same month.
Redemption mechanics
This is BOC, so it’s never quite as simple as “spend and earn”.
- Within 30 days of the end of each month, you’ll get an SMS from BOC asking for your KrisFlyer membership number.
- You must then reply to the SMS within five calendar days, from your Singapore mobile phone number registered with BOC, to 75665 using the following format:
![]() BOCEM [space] last 4 digits of your BOC EM card number [space] Your KrisFlyer membership number Example: If your BOC EM card ends in 1234 and your KrisFlyer membership number is 8123456789, you will need to send “BOCEM 1234 8123456789” to 75665 |
- Bonus points will then be converted into KrisFlyer miles with no fee and credited directly to your KrisFlyer account within 60 days after the promotion period ends, i.e. by 1st March 2026.
- Bear in mind that when this happens, KrisFlyer’s fixed three-year expiry will begin – you cannot keep these bonus BOC Points on the bank side to extend validity.
- Base miles (1.4 mpd / 2.8 mpd) will accrue as BOC Points and be added to any existing points you have accrued with the card, but will not be automatically transferred to KrisFlyer. You may convert those to KrisFlyer miles later (50,000 points = 10,000 miles), for a S$30.56 fee, in whole or part at your discretion.
Crucially, if you ignore the SMS or reply late, you will forfeit the bonus miles – so don’t miss this important step.
A number of caveats
There are some important fine-print points to be aware of:
- First-come, first-served: The T&Cs say the promo runs till 31st December 2025, “or until the Reward is fully redeemed, whichever is earlier”. BOC doesn’t disclose the size of the total bonus pool, so in theory the promo could end early, if uptake is high. BOC has history with this in previous promotions!
- Exclusions: The usual culprits don’t count towards the bonus, including government payments, insurance, utilities, education, hospitals, gambling, donations, financial institutions, top-ups (GrabPay, Amaze, YouTrip, etc.), and card fees or interest charges.
- Dining is limited: Only restaurants coding under MCC 5812 count – no fast food (MCC 5814), hotel dining, or banquet spend.
- Manual step: Miss the SMS reply and you miss the bonus for the previous month’s spend.

Summary
BOC’s Elite Miles World Mastercard isn’t usually top-of-mind for serious miles collectors, but with this promotion it’s suddenly become a heavy hitter, offering up to 8.8 mpd on key everyday categories like dining and online transactions, plus overseas spend and many Singapore Airlines group transactions.
Yes, the monthly SMS step is clunky, and the promo could end early if the bank’s undisclosed budget runs dry, but for those willing to play along this is one of the most lucrative earn opportunities we’ve seen in Singapore for some time.
If you hold a BOC Elite Miles card, it’s worth putting S$1,000 – S$5,000 spend on it each month in eligible categories till year-end to lock in some serious KrisFlyer miles accrual with this one.
