Complete guide to Singapore Airlines PPS Rewards

Everything you need to know about PPS Rewards - Singapore Airlines' exclusive perks for top-tier members.

Singapore Airlines introduced PPS Rewards back in May 2017, exclusive benefits for PPS Club and Solitaire PPS Club members designed to add a little extra recognition for its most loyal premium cabin travellers.

These are small but relatively valuable perks to accrue throughout your membership year each time you hit specific PPS Value milestones, starting from 30,000 PPS Value.

Think of PPS Rewards as the PPS Club equivalent of KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards, which we explored in detail recently, though there are a few important differences in how they’re earned and applied.

This guide will take a close look through each of the PPS Rewards, explain how you unlock them, and highlight the key terms and redemption details you should know to get the most out of them.

As a PPS Club member, you’ll earn PPS Rewards when you hit specific PPS Value thresholds during your membership year.

PPS Value is normally earned when you fly in Singapore Airlines Suites, First Class or Business Class, but you can also top up your balance through non-flight spending with SIA Group partners – Kris+, KrisShop, and Pelago.

Each time you reach a PPS Value threshold, a reward is issued instantly, and you can track your progress via your Account Summary when logged in to your KrisFlyer account.

The PPS Rewards tracker resets every 100,000 PPS Value you earn, up to a total of 500,000 PPS Value per membership year.

That means you can earn certain rewards more than once if you pass the same milestone again after a reset – for example, if you reach 130,000 PPS Value in your membership year, you’ll receive a second Double KrisFlyer Miles reward at that point.

Any PPS Value beyond 500,000 in your membership year is not eligible for additional rewards, but frankly if you are exceeding that level – a private jet may be a more efficient use of your travel budget than Singapore Airlines!

If you progress from PPS Club to Solitaire PPS Club, your tracker will reset upon upgrade.

To unlock PPS Rewards, you’ll have to earn sufficient PPS Value in the programme during your membership year.

PPS Value is awarded at a rate of 1 PPS Value per S$1 of fare paid (excluding taxes). Only the person named on the ticket can accrue PPS Value – you won’t earn extra by paying for others.

PPS Value is calculated in Singapore dollars, so if you’ve bought your ticket in another currency, the airfare and surcharge portions are converted to Singapore dollars to determine your PPS Value.

Most importantly of all:

  • You don’t earn PPS Value when flying in Premium Economy or Economy Class
  • You only earn PPS Value when flying on Singapore Airlines operated flights (SQ flight number, SQ metal)
  • Redemption flights using KrisFlyer miles are not eligible for PPS Value accrual, and if you use the ‘part-pay with miles’ option, you’ll only earn PPS Value on the amount you pay with your card.

Since September 2025, it’s also become possible to earn PPS Value through selected on-ground spend with Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago, subject to an upper cap.

Here’s how that looks.

Here’s a summary of the five PPS Rewards you can accrue as you pass through specific PPS Value thresholds during your membership year.

PPS Rewards start at 30,000 PPS Value earned in your membership year.

30,000
2 x Double KrisFlyer Miles

Receive two vouchers, each allowing the principal member to earn double KrisFlyer miles for a single flight segment on Singapore Airlines.

You can apply each voucher either before your flight departs or retrospectively for a flight taken within the past seven days, provided the reward was awarded to you before the flight date. The reward cannot be applied to partially flown tickets.

Each voucher applies to one flight segment only, and cannot be stacked with another Double KrisFlyer Miles or bonus miles reward for the same flight.

If you paid for your ticket using a mix of cash and KrisFlyer miles, the double miles will apply only to the cash-paid portion (excluding taxes). No bonus miles are earned on award flights, tier bonuses, or miles-paid portions of a fare.

You’ll receive the additional miles after completing your flight, typically within four weeks.

Double KrisFlyer Miles vouchers can be combined with an Advance Upgrade reward, though the bonus miles will be credited based on the original booking class prior to upgrade.

40,000 50,000 KrisFlyer Miles Redemption Discount

Receive one reward providing a 50,000 KrisFlyer miles discount when redeeming miles for an award ticket or a redemption upgrade on eligible flights operated by Singapore Airlines.

The reward is valid for 12 months from the date of issue, and can be used for redemption bookings (excluding HighFlyer bookings) or for redemption upgrades. It cannot be used on partially flown tickets or for upgrades using miles at the airport or via mySQupgrade.

Each reward can be applied to a single redemption booking or redemption upgrade, and cannot be stacked with any other reward or promotion. It also cannot be used in conjunction with the purchase of additional miles to complete a redemption.

The reward may be used by the principal member or for a redemption nominee, and in the case of a booking with multiple passengers, it will only apply to the first eligible passenger in the booking.

If the cost of your redemption booking or upgrade is less than 50,000 miles, any unused miles will be forfeited and cannot be transferred to another passenger or booking.

If changes are made to a booking requiring additional miles, a top-up will be needed; however, if fewer miles are required after a change, no refund of the difference will be given.

If your booking is refunded, the 50,000-mile discount will be re-credited to your KrisFlyer account provided it remains within its original validity period.

60,000 Advance Upgrade 1

Receive one Advance Upgrade reward, allowing you to confirm a one-cabin class upgrade on an eligible Singapore Airlines commercial booking, subject to seat availability at the time of application.

The upgrade is valid for a single flight segment operated and marketed by Singapore Airlines, and may be used by the principal member or for a redemption nominee.

Eligible upgrade combinations are as follows:

  • Economy Class → Premium Economy Class (if fitted)

  • Economy Class → Business Class (if Premium Economy is not fitted)

  • Premium Economy Class → Business Class

  • Business Class → First Class (if fitted)

SIA aircraft without Premium Economy Class fitted are: Airbus A350 Medium Haul, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-8 MAX, Boeing 787-10.

The Advance Upgrade reward can be applied to commercial tickets booked in the following fare classes:

  • Economy Class: Y, B, E, M, H, W

  • Premium Economy Class: S, T, P, L

  • Business Class: Z, C, J, U

Tickets issued under ‘Lite’ or ‘Value’ fares (i.e. D in Business Class, R in Premium Economy, or K/N/Q/V in Economy Class) are not eligible for this reward.

The Advance Upgrade reward cannot be used for award bookings, redemption upgrades, HighFlyer bookings, or mySQupgrade transactions.

Seats available for Advance Upgrade rewards are limited and allocated at Singapore Airlines’ discretion. Availability may differ from that of regular revenue tickets, and not all flights or cabins may be eligible for upgrade, even when seats remain available for sale.

Each reward applies to one passenger only, and if multiple passengers in a booking wish to upgrade, each must hold their own Advance Upgrade reward. If you wish to apply the reward to selected passengers in a booking, you must contact PPS Connect.

The Advance Upgrade reward may be combined with a Double or Bonus KrisFlyer Miles reward, however, any bonus miles earned will be based on the original booking class prior to upgrade.

75,000 Advance Upgrade 2

Receive another Advance Upgrade reward, allowing you to confirm a one-cabin class upgrade on an eligible Singapore Airlines commercial booking, subject to seat availability at the time of application.

Conditions are the same as for the ‘Advance Upgrade 1’ awarded at 60,000 PPS Value (see above).

100,000 Advance Upgrade 3

Receive another Advance Upgrade reward, allowing you to confirm a one-cabin class upgrade on an eligible Singapore Airlines commercial booking, subject to seat availability at the time of application.

Conditions are the same as for the ‘Advance Upgrade 1’ awarded at 60,000 PPS Value (see above).

As you can see, Advance Upgrade rewards are only applicable to Solitaire PPS Club members, since they kick in at 60,000 PPS Value accrued in your membership year (50,000 is enough to see you minted as Solitaire).

PPS Rewards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue, though SIA offers a further three-month extension, so you definitely don’t have to use them within the membership year of accrual.

To use a PPS Reward, log in to your account and click on Account Summary > PPS Rewards, and you’ll see a list of those those you’re eligible to apply, alongside any you have used already.

You can extend the validity of a PPS Reward that is approaching expiry by a further three months, by selecting the ‘Extend Validity’ option, even though the terms and conditions state that extension is not permitted.

I am not a PPS Club member, but here’s how that looks for an expiring KrisFlyer Milestone Reward, with extension via the same process.

You can find further details about KrisFlyer PPS Rewards, including full terms and conditions, here.

Summary

PPS Rewards offer a nice way to earn incremental perks as you build up PPS Value, and in some cases as you work towards Solitaire status qualification with Singapore Airlines. While the rewards themselves aren’t hugely generous – ranging from KrisFlyer miles accrual bonuses to one-cabin advance upgrades – they do provide some additional value for SIA’s top-tier members.

For frequent flyers, strategically timing high-value flights in Suites or Business Class can help you unlock these rewards faster, maximising your benefits.

Do note that the tracking period runs on a membership year basis, unlike Milestone Rewards that run on a calendar year basis, so you’ll need to check your specific PPS Value accrual period before deciding if any of these rewards are worth working towards as part of your upcoming travel.

Check your PPS Value balance today to see how close you are to your next reward.

  1. I’ve come to learn you need to have a year of Solitaire status to qualify for the 60k+ vouchers. So if, for example, your are an existing PPS status holder and spend 60k, you will qualify for Solitaire but then reset to 10k rather than receive the upgrade voucher. This seems a bit of a bizarre process – whether you spend 60k in one your or the next surely the outcome should be the same?

  2. Hi, saw you wrote the PPS qualification requirement is 30k PPS value. May i know if there is an increase recently from the 25k PPS value? Sorry if i have misunderstood your article. As i did not receive news about this increase. Thanks!
