Earlier this week we wrote about a new Kris+ miles earning deal in Singapore, designed to celebrate the app’s 4th birthday and offering 10 mpd instead of usual year-round 2 mpd – 9 mpd earn rates at over 40 merchants across the Lion City.
With credit card points in the mix as well, that means up to 14 mpd total earning at these outlets for the entire month of October 2024 – a good deal if there’s spend you will be making anyway or if any of these merchants pique you interest for the first time.
Well the deal isn’t just exclusive to Singapore earn partners, with Kris+ rolling out an even more generous ‘Birthday Bash’ down under, offering 10 mpd at every single one of its 177 earn merchants in Sydney and Melbourne.

Kris+ ‘Birthday Bash’ 10 mpd in Australia
When Kris+ initially expanded miles earning to Australia there were only 44 participating merchants in Sydney and Melbourne, but that total has now expanded rapidly, with 177 merchants now on the list across both cities.
To celebrate the 4th birthday of Kris+ this month, the app is offering 10 mpd at all 177 of these merchants in both Sydney and Melbourne between 10am AEST on 1st October 2024 and 11.59pm AEDT on 31st October 2024.
Earning is uncapped, and these miles are awarded instantly in place of the usual 1 mpd to 3 mpd accrual rates at all outlets when you make a purchase using the app.
This is a much more generous deal than in Singapore – where only 48 merchants are participating (around 10% of the island-wide total).
There’s better news still for those travelling to Australia, since 10 mpd is offered for Australian Dollar spend in these cities, you’re actually getting over 11 mpd in Singapore Dollar terms, since 1 AUD is costing you only 0.89 Singapore cents at current exchange rates.

Additional discounts
Kris+ is also offering additional discounts at several of these merchant partners during this promotion.
These include discounted cash vouchers that you can purchase via the app in advance of your visit to offset the bill, with 10 mpd earning when you buy the voucher itself (check the redemption deadline).
In this example you can get 15% off a voucher for AU$90 off the bill at Holy Duck! in Sydney, earning 10 mpd for the AU$76.50 payment (760 miles), then redeem the voucher right through to the end of December 2024.
If your bill comes to more than the voucher value, just pay the balance via the Kris+ app and earn even more miles.

Which card to use
Kris+ earn partners in Australia accept in-app payment via Apple Pay or Google Pay using Visa or Mastercard (but not American Express cards, which are only accepted via Kris+ in Singapore).
As you probably already know, with Kris+ you’ll earn KrisPay miles for your transaction (which you then can and should convert into KrisFlyer miles), on top of the usual points you’ll get when using your best credit card to make in-app payment.
Australian credit cards have rather lacklustre earn rates, but if you’re visiting Sydney or Melbourne here’s a list of Singapore-issued cards that should give you the best earn rate for Kris+ transactions at these merchants during the promotion (Australia Kris+ spend codes as online and FCY).
The following cards will earn at their bonus rate of between 3 mpd and 4 mpd for all Kris+ spend in Australia, though some are subject to minimum spend and/or have upper spend caps.

UOB Lady’s SolitaireDon’t use your Citi Rewards card to make payment with Apple Pay or Google Pay on Kris+, since online transactions using this card specifically exclude mobile wallet payments and will therefore earn at the basic rate of 0.4 mpd.
Don’t forget to transfer straight to KrisFlyer miles
KrisPay miles earned through Kris+ can only be transferred to your KrisFlyer account within 21 days of the transaction. To do so, simply tap on the “Transfer to KrisFlyer” button which will appear on the miles earned confirmation screen or transaction details screen.
You can do so later (within 21 days), but why wait?
Remember that KrisPay miles earned per transaction can only be transferred to your account in their entirety. If you earned 100 KrisPay miles from a single Kris+ transaction, for example, the full 100 KrisPay miles must be transferred to your KrisFlyer account. If you have already spent some of your KrisPay miles earned, a partial transfer option is not available.
We therefore recommend transferring to KrisFlyer immediately following any Kris+ earning transaction, in case you either forget or make a mistake later.
Summary
The latest Kris+ Birthday Bash promotion with 10 mpd at 48 merchants in Singapore this month is actually the less generous side of the deal.
Over in Australia, all 177 partner merchants in the Kris+ earn programme are offering 10 mpd, which could prove a very useful way to boost your KrisFlyer Miles stash if you’re based in Sydney or Melbourne, or you’re simply taking a trip to those cities this month.
10 mpd from this promotion comes in addition to the points you’ll earn on your credit card, for a total haul of 14 mpd at the top level, but even with a decent general spend card offering 2 mpd on FCY transactions, you can still net a respectable 12 mpd during this offer.
Remember to transfer your KrisPay miles immediately into the KrisFlyer programme after earning, since if they become partially used by mistake or you forget after 21 days, they’ll be stuck in the Kris+ app, where their value is dismal.
