Back in May this year, we reported on Qatar Airways Privilege Club launching a small selection of on-ground Avios earning options with outlets in Raffles Hotel in Singapore, providing a rare local accrual opportunity for Privilege Club members, and an easy way to extend expiring miles.
The airline has since expanded its list of premium hotel restaurant dining accrual options in the Lion City, and has also rolled out an attractive bonus miles offer that rewards Privilege Club members new to these card-linked offers with even more Avios in the process.

The promotion combines a generous 1,000 Avios welcome bonus with ongoing high earn rates that also stack with your credit card rewards, pushing your return to nearly 8 mpd when paying with a high-earning credit card.
The promotion
Here’s a summary of how this card-linked promotion works.
- Promotion period: 4th August 2025 – 3rd September 2025
- Welcome bonus: 1,000 Avios for your first transaction after linking a Visa card for the first time within the promotion period
- Dining discount: Up to 10% off at select restaurants during the promotion period, when you show your Privilege Club digital membership card via the mobile app
- Minimum spend: US$15 (~S$19) per transaction
- Ongoing earn rate: 5 Avios per US$1 spent (~3.9 mpd in Singapore Dollars), even after the promotion ends
Full terms and conditions for this promotion are available here.

As you can see, what began earlier this year with just a handful of Raffles Hotel outlets has already expanded to include several other premium properties across the city, confirming Qatar Airways’ commitment to card-linked offers in Singapore and giving us reason to hope the list of eligible merchants will continue to grow.

1,000 bonus Avios
The 1,000 bonus Avios deal applies only to members who link their cards for the first time during the promotion period (4th August 2025 – 3rd September 2025).
If you have previously linked a Visa card to your Privilege Club account on or before 3rd August 2025, you will not be eligible for the bonus miles, but can continue to earn Avios year-round at these outlets.
10% discount
Restaurants and bars offering 10% discount on your bill when showing your Privilege Club digital membership card via the mobile app do have some additional terms you should be aware of.
For example, at Capella Singapore the discount does not apply on public holidays or on the eve of public holidays, while at UMMI Lebanese Dining the discount is not applicable for alcoholic beverages.
How to earn Avios
To take advantage of the offer, Privilege Club members must link their Visa payment card to their Qatar Airways account.
To do so, log in to your Qatar Airways Privilege Club account and link your Visa card under the “Card Earn” programme.

You can link up to five Visa cards to your account, if you wish.
You can then simply visit any participating restaurant and pay with your linked Visa card, and earn 3.9 mpd / 1.6 mpd depending on the merchant, subject to a minimum spend of US$15 (~S$19) per transaction.
When will Avios points be credited?
Here’s how the crediting process works:
- Transactions appear on your QRPC account within 14 days
- Avios credit directly to your QRPC account within 30 days
- Missing points can be claimed through Qatar’s online portal
Maximum earn potential: Up to 8 mpd
The real attraction here lies in stacking the Qatar Airways Avios with credit card rewards. Here’s an example of how the maths works:
- Qatar Avios: 5 per US$1 = ~3.9 Avios per S$1
- Credit card miles: Up to 4 mpd with optimal cards
- Combined rate: ~7.9 mpd
Recommended cards for maximum earning
Since only Visa cards are accepted, you should focus on linking the following high-earning options in Singapore to combine with this Avios earning offer.
Bonus cards for hotel dining
| Card | Earn Rate |
Notes |
HSBC Revolution(see our review) |
4 mpd | On on up to S$1,500 of dining or hotel spend per calendar month, until 31st October 2025. |
UOB VS(see our review) |
4 mpd | On contactless payments, min. S$1,000, max. S$1,200 per statement month |
UOB PPV(see our review) |
4 mpd | On mobile contactless payments, max. S$1.1K per calendar month |
Other general spend cards will accrue their local earn rate for dining at these restaurants, which isn’t a bad deal in some cases – for example an uncapped 1.5 mpd with the DBS Vantage card plus 3.9 mpd via the Privilege Club Avios earning will still net you a total of 5.4 mpd.
Avios points can offer great award value
As many of our readers know, Avios points can be great value for award redemptions in the region and beyond, including:
- Cathay Pacific intra-Asia awards in long-haul J seats online, with no fuel surcharge, like Singapore – Hong Kong in Business Class for for 22,000 Avios
- Bangkok Airways Singapore – Koh Samui flights for just 6,000 Avios
- Qatar Qsuite awards from Singapore to Europe for 70,000 to 75,000 Avios
- Oman Air Business Class from Asia to Europe from 26,000 Avios in Economy Class or 77,250 Avios in Business Class
- Finnair Business Class awards to Europe (now only 62,500 Avios, with minimal taxes)
- A wide range of UK domestic flights on Loganair, often priced at over GBP200 (~S$350) one-way, for only 6,500 Avios, with minimal taxes and fees to pay

Avios points can be transferred free and instantly 1:1 between your Qatar Airways and British Airways accounts, and onwards to other programmes like Finnair Plus and Loganair Loyalty, to take advantage of all these sweet spots.
If you’re not already holding an Avios balance, now might be a good time to start. With four Singapore banks offering direct conversions into either the Qatar Airways or British Airways programmes, topping up to a useful redemption level could be easier than you think – drinking or dining at these bars and restaurants will just make it easier!
Singapore Bank to Avios transfer partners
= Good transfer ratio
= Lousy transfer ratio
Do note that OCBC offers a poor transfer ratio to Avios compared to other programmes like KrisFlyer, while HSBC cardholders should only be transferring to British Airways Avios, then to Qatar Airways Avios from there if necessary, to get a far better deal.
A good way to keep your Avios balance alive
Qatar Airways Avios work on an activity-based expiry policy, meaning any earning or redemption will ‘reset the clock’ for all Avios in your account – keeping them alive for another 36 months (three years).
That means any points you accrue from these dining options will not only top up any existing Avios you have, but will also ensure your entire balance is good for another three years – very handy if your stash is imminently expiring.
Burning Avios at these partners (tip – don’t!)
You can also redeem Avios for purchases at these partner restaurants, but the rate is poor at 0.65 US cents (~0.84 Singapore cents) per Avios point.
For example, for a US$65 bill (~S$84), 10,000 Avios can be deducted from your account instead, if you wish.
Business Class flight redemptions, on the other hand, should net you at least 2 Singapore cents per mile in value, so this should definitely be avoided.
Once you pay for your purchase using your linked credit card, provided you have sufficient Avios to redeem the bill in full using points, you will receive a notification in the Qatar Airways mobile app after completing the payment, within 30 days.
This will prompt you to choose between collecting and spending Avios for the transaction.
Don’t worry – the default method is to collect Avios on all transactions.
If you have not chosen whether to collect or spend Avios for the transaction within eight hours, Avios will automatically be collected on your purchase – the option to spend Avios will no longer be available.
If you opt to spend Avios for these restaurant transactions – which we don’t recommend unless you are cashing out of a small balance to exit the programme – a cashback equivalent to the amount paid will be credited to your linked payment card within one week.
Summary
This promotion offers good value for Avios collectors, and is a rare way to do so directly in Singapore without flying. The 1,000 welcome bonus essentially covers the cost of a cocktail at Bob’s Bar, while the ongoing 3.9 mpd rate (subject to slight USD/SGD exchange rate variation) provides good long-term value.
The ability to stack with credit card rewards pushes total returns close to 8 mpd, however, the Visa-only restriction and premium hotel restaurant pricing may limit the deal’s appeal for some users.
For those already planning to dine at these establishments, it’s essentially free Avios. For everyone else, a quick visit for the welcome bonus makes financial sense, especially given that earning any Avios points extends your entire balance validity for three more years.
