Buy miles from 1.11 cents each on a range of IRAS tax payments using Visa cards between now and late March 2026, with a 1.8% fee deal from CardUp.

If you have an IRAS tax bill to pay in Singapore, whether it be property tax, stamp duty or income tax, there’s a new offer from card payments provider CardUp with a discounted 1.8% admin fee offer for payments made between now and the end of March 2026, using locally-issued Visa cards.

This can reduce the cost per mile to as low as 1.11 cents in some cases – an attractive rate to ‘buy’ miles.

Here’s how the deal is structured.

This deal for property tax and stamp duty payments offers a 1.8% admin fee using promo code 18TAX26 and is running for payment due dates from now until 6th April 2026. To allow for processing time, you must schedule your payment by 31st March 2026, to be eligible.

The following tax payments to IRAS are eligible for the promotion:

Note that CardUp is restricting both of these offer to Singapore-issued Visa cards. A full list of the platform’s eligible miles-earning cards is available here.

Bear in mind that there will probably be a specific income tax promotion code offered by CardUp and other providers for income tax payment season, usually released around late March.

In recent years, this has allowed income tax payments at a discounted fee of 1.75% for Visa cards (even 1.73% for selected OCBC cards), and 1.99% for Mastercard payments, so look out for that.

What’s the cost per mile?

Here’s how the all-important cost per mile looks for some popular Visa credit cards issued in Singapore under this offer..

Card Mpd Cost per mile

Citi ULTIMA 1.6 1.11¢

DBS Insignia

* For SCVI 1.4 mpd is subject to a minimum spend of S$2,000 in the same statement cycle, otherwise 1 mpd. CardUp payments do count towards the minimum.

Even with one of the widely-held 1.2 mpd cards like the Citi PremierMiles Visa, an effective cost per mile of 1.47 cents is quite competitive.

For those lucky enough to have 1.6 mpd earning cards, the cost per mile drops to an excellent 1.11 cents.

CardUp has a self-explanatory user interface for setting up payments, just be sure to input the promo code at the appropriate stage, as shown below.

Note that the regular 2.6% fee shows initially, but once you proceed to the payment stage the discount will be reflected.

You will also have to upload your IRAS tax statement, to verify the payment.

Terms and conditions

Summary

CardUp is offering new and existing customers using local Visa cards a discounted fee of 1.8% when making both one-time and recurring IRAS property tax payments, one-time IRAS stamp duty payments, and recurring income tax payments, between now and late March 2026.

These promo codes allow you to ‘buy’ miles from 1.11 cents each, a competitive rate to accrue miles.

While this is the cheapest current deal for tax payments, we do expect other offers to appear in the coming weeks as personal income tax season will descend upon us once again – so stay tuned for hopefully even better offers, also including Mastercard and Amex cards.
