A few months ago, Singapore Airlines devalued its KrisFlyer miles, adding around 8-10% to most award rates, so it’s therefore time for us to update our list of award rates by city for routes to and from Singapore, and on the carrier’s “fifth freedom” legs between two foreign countries.
This now reflects the latest requirements when parting with your hard-earned miles, and can prove an easier reference than SIA’s zone-based award charts, or making a ‘dummy’ award booking through the website in order to check how many miles you need.
KrisFlyer miles rates A – Z of routes to/from Singapore
Here are our quick reference tables showing how many miles you need to redeem flights on Singapore Airlines, listed by city and cabin class.
The table shows the one-way redemption cost to or from Singapore in thousands of miles. You’ll need to double the miles rate for a round-trip award flight.
Rates are only shown for cabins actually operating on a specific route (e.g. Singapore to Perth – Economy and Business class rates only, as no aircraft on this route have a Premium Economy or First Class cabin installed). In this sense the table also acts as a quick reference guide for the routes you can redeem Premium Economy and First Class tickets on.

Remember this table is designed for simple routings to/from Singapore. For more complex routings (e.g. Perth – Singapore – Milan) it’s not a case of adding two miles rates together, instead you need to refer to the KrisFlyer zone-based award chart.

For Zone 8 to Zone 11 in this case (Perth to Europe), it’s 119,500 miles each way for a saver Business award, not 144,000 miles (40,500 PER-SIN + 103,500 SIN-MXP).
Singapore Airlines “fifth freedom” flights
Here’s the same list of award ticket pricing if you’re redeeming on a flight operated by Singapore Airlines which does not operate to / from Singapore itself.

Note that some of these routes are currently suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic (e.g. Singapore – Bandung and Hong Kong to San Francisco), but these should be making a comeback in due course, so we have left them in the tables for your reference.
Spontaneous Escapes rates
Every month Singapore Airlines releases a list of Spontaneous Escapes award discounts, for those able to make last-minute travel plans and travel in the following month.
For example, around 15th November the Spontaneous Escapes deals for travel in December will be revealed. These must then be booked by the end of the current calendar month.

Typically, the deal is for Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class, with 30% off the rates shown in the tables above to and from selected cities.
For example, if Frankfurt to New York in Economy Class is included in the offer, the usual rate of 25,000 KrisFlyer miles will be discounted to 17,500 miles (30% off) for travel in the Spontaneous Escapes period.
Discounts have been higher in some Spontaneous Escapes offers, reaching up to 61% off in some cases.
KrisFlyer award charts
You can also refer to the following zone-based KrisFlyer award redemption charts published by Singapore Airlines to determine the award pricing for your SIA redemption or upgrade.

The airline also has a KrisFlyer online miles calculator, where you can enter your routing and cabin class to check the redemption rates.

There’s also the option to sit in the Premium Economy cabin on some shorter flights where sale of cash tickets or awards in this cabin is not normally offered, including to and from Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok and Jakarta. See our recent guide on how to do this.
