Solitaire PPS members can now visit Changi T3 SilverKris lounges when flying Scoot

Solitaire PPS Club members can now access SilverKris lounges in either T2 or T3 at Changi Airport prior to their Scoot flight, great news for a better lounge experience and a shorter trip to the 'C' gates.

Back in June last year, Singapore Airlines announced a welcome perk for Solitaire PPS Club members, with SilverKris lounge access extended to these top-tier fliers when departing on the carrier’s budget subsidiary Scoot out of Changi Airport, and from some overseas stations too.

There was one drawback for those departing from Singapore though – only the carrier’s sub-par lounges at Terminal 2 were included on the list, not the newer ones over at Terminal 3, which reopened in May 2022 after an extensive S$50 million renovation project.

The good news is that’s changed this week, with a new more generous policy now in force.

In a new perk for for Solitaire PPS Club members, the latest refurbished lounges at Changi Airport Terminal 3 are now included in the lineup of options when you’re departing on a Scoot flight, not just the T2 lounges.

Here’s how the policy used to look.

And here’s how it looks now, effective from 18th June 2024.

That’s great news because these upgraded T3 facilities are the lounges of choice for SIA passengers departing from Changi, representing a nice improvement on the dated T2 ones.

The T3 SilverKris First Class lounge boasts the airline’s latest seating options including productivity pods, not to mention private shower suites, nap rooms with beds, and a range of up to five à la carte dishes available to order, depending on the time of day.

It’s also good news if your Scoot flight is departing from a ‘C’ gate in Terminal 1, with a shorter journey from the T3 lounges to the gate at boarding time.

Those with a Scoot flight departing from the ‘D’ gates may still prefer to use the Terminal 2 SilverKris lounges, otherwise it’s quite a trek from the newer T3 alternatives.

Solitaire PPS Club members departing on Scoot now have the following choice of lounges to use at Changi, along with one guest departing on the same flight, after checking in at Terminal 1.

  • T2 KrisFlyer Gold Lounge
  • T2 SilverKris Business Class Lounge
  • T2 SilverKris First Class Lounge
  • T3 KrisFlyer Gold Lounge
  • T3 SilverKris Business Class Lounge
  • T3 SilverKris First Class Lounge

This includes those travelling in Scoot Economy or ScootPlus cabins.

Obviously most Solitaire members will gravitate to the superior First Class lounges, and this now includes the newest one at Terminal 3.

That doesn’t stop those craving some natural light heading over to the SilverKris Business Class Lounge in T3, which also features a fully tended bar, or indeed the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Scoot operates from Terminal 1 at Singapore Changi Airport, so after your lounge visit in either T2 or T3 a SkyTrain ride to your departure gate will be required.

If your Scoot flight is departing from a ‘C’ gate:

  • From the T2 lounges, you can take the T2 > T1 (E to D) SkyTrain, then walk across to the C gates, or take the T2 > T3 (E to B) SkyTrain that goes through Jewel, then transfer to the T3 > T1 (B to C) SkyTrain.
  • From the T3 lounges, you can take the T3 > T1 (B to C) SkyTrain.

If your Scoot flight is departing from a ‘D’ gate:

  • From the T2 lounges, you can take the T2 > T1 (E to D) SkyTrain.
  • From the T3 lounges, you can take the T3 > T1 (B to C) SkyTrain, then walk across to the D gates, or take the T3 > T2 (B to E) SkyTrain that goes through Jewel, then transfer to the T2 > T1 (E to D) SkyTrain.

Remember, you still have to check in for a Scoot flight in T1 – necessitating a SkyTrain ride to T2 or T3 for SilverKris lounge benefits in the first instance.

This can be done either before or after immigration (i.e. clear immigration in T1 then switch terminal via the SkyTrain, or switch terminal via the SkyTrain immediately after check-in and then clear immigration in T2 or T3, depending on which lounge you want to use).

Scoot does not operate check-in desks at terminals other than T1, except via the Jewel Early Check-In facility between 3 and 18 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

Overseas SKLs are still included

There’s no change to SIA’s policy on SilverKris lounge access for Solitaire’s departing on Scoot flights from overseas locations with an SKL, which is still permitted with up to one guest departing on the same flight.

SIA’s overseas SKL’s operating at airports that also have Scoot departures are:

  • Bangkok
  • Hong Kong
  • Manila
  • Melbourne
  • Perth
  • Seoul
  • Sydney
  • Taipei

Sadly these lounges don’t operate with Scoot flights in mind – you’ll have to be departing in a regular lounge opening window to take advantage.

We have a full rundown of the benefits PPS Club members can enjoy, including differentiated perks for Solitaire members like SilverKris lounge access when flying on Scoot, in our full guide here.

Summary

Singapore Airlines has been offering its Solitaire PPS Club members SilverKris lounge access when departing on Scoot flights from Changi Airport for around a year, but this has been restricted to lacklustre T2 facilities, until now.

Thankfully, the T3 lounges have joined the list.

If you’re eligible, you’ll likely prefer the enhanced experience these newer lounges offer. However, the main beneficiaries are travellers on Scoot flights departing from a ‘C’ gate in T1, as these are closer to the T3 lounges compared to the ‘D’ gates.

Don’t forget that this Solitaire PPS Club benefit extends beyond Singapore too, if a SilverKris lounge is open at an overseas airport prior to your Scoot departure, which can be useful in places like Bangkok, Hong Kong, Perth, Sydney and Taipei.
