A new non-stop air link between Singapore and the popular Japanese city of Osaka is being launched later this year, with All Nippon Airways’ low-cost carrier Peach announcing that it will serve this route using its new Airbus A321neo LR aircraft from December this year.
This will see daily non-stop service on the airline’s 218-seat all-Economy Class narrow-body jets, with one-way fares available from $164 including taxes and fees – provided all you need is a seat and some hand luggage.
This will provide competition to Singapore Airlines and Scoot to and from Osaka, the only other carriers operating non-stop flights on this route, and could be a good option to consider for a cheaper Japan trip from early December 2024.
Jetstar also flies between Singapore and Osaka, but with an intermediate stop in Manila.
The news comes just a few months after ANA also launched low-cost Singapore – Tokyo Narita flights with its budget medium-haul carrier AirJapan back in April this year.
Who is Peach?
Peach (officially Peach Aviation Limited) is a short-haul low-cost carrier from Star Alliance airline All Nippon Airways, which started flying domestically in Japan some 12 years ago back in March 2012, using Airbus A320 family aircraft.

Headquartered in Osaka, the airline now operates 36 aircraft from four bases at Osaka Kansai, Tokyo Narita, Naha (Okinawa) and Sendai.
Strangely there is no peach involved in the airline – either the colour or the fruit – with the carrier sticking strictly to a pink and purple palette, but we guess it makes sense to them!

Peach launched its first international flight soon after its inception, linking Osaka to Seoul since May 2012, but the more recent delivery of three longer-range Airbus A321neo LR aircraft is allowing the airline to spread its wings outside North Asia for the first time.
In December 2022, Peach launched six-hour non-stop Osaka Kansai to Bangkok flights using the new aircraft type, and now it’s Singapore’s turn to join the carrier’s network.
The schedule
Peach will serve the Singapore – Osaka Kansai route on a daily basis from 5th December 2024, with an overnight service from Changi, but an evening option in the return direction.
Here’s how the schedule looks.

An overnight flight in Economy Class from Singapore to Japan may be a bit of a struggle for many, but a more civilised evening departure in the return direction should be much better-received, getting you back into Singapore at 1am.
Peach will operate to and from Terminal 2 at Singapore Changi Airport, aligning its operations with parent company ANA and sister airline AirJapan.

Peach flights will go head-to-head with Singapore Airlines services on this route, which operate three times daily using 337-seat Boeing 787-10 aircraft, and low-cost flights by SIA’s budget subsidiary Scoot, operating once per day.
In theory, you can also travel from Singapore directly to Osaka with Jetstar on a daily basis using Airbus A320s, but this service operates with a stop in Manila both ways, so it’s not likely to be all that popular.
Jetstar previously operated non-stop Singapore – Osaka flights using Airbus A330s starting in November 2012, but the service was not successful and ended in November 2013.
Peach Singapore – Osaka fares
We found fares in both directions on this route for as little S$99 plus taxes, which means the following total one-way pricing when taxes and fees are included:
- SIN-KIX: S$164.20
- KIX-SIN: JPY13,690 (~S$152)
That means you can take a round-trip to and from Osaka for as little as S$316, if you don’t require checked baggage.
A perhaps more realistic fare, once standard seat selection and one 20kg checked bag is added to the booking, comes in at around S$460 return.
Aircraft and seats
Peach will operate its Airbus A321neo LR in an all-Economy Class configuration on this route, which has 218 seats in a 3-3 configuration with 30-inch to 32-inch pitch.

That’s quite comparable to Scoot’s Boeing 787-8s on this route, which also have 30-inch pitch in Economy Class, though those aircraft do include a ScootPlus section with more space for a fee.
Here’s how the seat map looks.

Advance seat selection fees start at S$17 each way on this route, with varying charges based on which part of the cabin you wish to sit in.
Wi-Fi and in-flight entertainment are not offers, but complimentary USB-A charging sockets are available at each seat for your portable devices.

Peach does not offer complimentary in-flight meals or drinks, but you can order from a menu and pay by cash in SGD or JPY, or by credit card, provided you have pre-registered your credit card prior to boarding. See here for details.
Summary
The popular Singapore – Osaka route is getting a fourth airline from December this year, with ANA’s low-cost carrier Peach set to launch daily service between the two cities.
This will add another low-cost option between Singapore and Japan, using all-Economy Class configured Airbus A321neo LRs, with fares starting at S$316 return.
As with other low-cost carriers, add-ons like checked baggage, seat assignment and meals come at additional cost, though some of these can be acquired through more expensive ‘bundled’ fare types available at the booking stage.

Peach (and event Changi on their facebook page) claim that their seats on the A321 LR are wider than ‘normal’ seats.
But I couldn’t find any other info on this.
Do you have more info Andrew?
it’s in the article:
“Peach will operate its Airbus A321neo LR in an all-Economy Class configuration on this route, which has 218 seats in a 3-3 configuration with 30-inch to 32-inch pitch.”
It depends what you regard as ‘normal’!
Peach has gone with Recaro BL3710 seats on its A321neo LR which are 18.0″ wide, also installed by Jetstar on its A321neo LR (18.0″ wide).
Scoot went for the (marginally narrower) 17.7″ wide Recaro SL3510 seats for its A320neo and A321neo, also used by easyJet for its neos.
Scoot’s Safran Economy Class seats on the Boeing 787 that also fly to KIX are already 18.0″ wide. So there’s really likely to be no noticeable difference.
Peach may be referencing some Economy Class seat width stats on narrower Boeing 737 aircraft, which typically come in at 17-17.5″.
thanks for the super insightful reply Andrew!
So, much ado about nothing by Peach.
Its a non smorking flight
Cute
Hi Andrew – is the smart seat with 32 inch pitch? Seems that I cannot find any information anywhere. Thanks!
