As Raffles Hotel on Beach Road is preparing to open its doors again in just over a month from now, following a lengthy 18-month renovation, plans are already underway for a second hotel bearing the iconic brand in Singapore.

This time the location is Sentosa, with the new Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa Singapore set to occupy a 100,000 square metre site on the island.
The villas
The all-villa property, touted as the first of its kind in Singapore, will feature a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom options, each with a terrace, private swimming pool and suspended day bed.

Villa sizes range from 260 square metres (2,800 sq ft) for the 1-bed units to 450 square metres (4,800 sq ft) for the 4-bed example.
Even for the smallest units, that’s around double the size of the 1-bed villas at the neighbouring Capella Hotel on the island.

Other facilities
The resort will also include the usual facilities including a communal pool, restaurants, bars, a fitness centre and meeting space. A Raffles Spa and 24-hour personal butler service are also promised.

Ownership and design
The Royal Group, owner of both the SO Sofitel Singapore and Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, will build the property in partnership with AccorHotels, who acquired the Raffles brand in 2015.
In charge of the concept from landscaping and lighting to the villa interiors themselves is international design firm Yabu Pushelberg, also responsible for hotels including the Four Seasons Toronto, the St. Regis San Francisco and, one of our personal favourites, The Modern Honolulu.
The price
Accor’s Asia Pacific CEO Michael Issenberg quoted approximate nightly room rates at the new resort of S$875 to S$2,500.

Another all-villa Raffles resort is due to open in Bali next year at Jimbaran Bay, and future hotels in the pipeline for the brand include properties in London and Boston.

Hi Andrew, is there any updates on this news? Understand that this property (beside Sofitel Singapore Sentosa) is slated to open in 2022 but at this stage, it is still a bare land.
Yeah I wouldn’t expect anything to happen soon! Likely to be delayed a few years I think.
