Last month we wrote about the latest redemption options for those with KrisFlyer miles to burn, comprising 12 local fine dining events running in September, October and November 2021, as set menu collaboration dinners by three Michelin star chefs.
These are part of the KrisFlyer Experiences range, which launched back in January 2020 promising members money-can’t-buy experiences in exchange for KrisFlyer miles.
It’s an option for those looking to dispose of some KrisFlyer miles in exchange for something unique (despite no current expiry worries).
New events
On top of last month’s launch of set menu Michelin star events, KrisFlyer Experiences has now added four additional restaurants and 12 dates to the calendar in September and October.

All four of these new experiences include welcome Champagne, however do note that optional wine pairings or additional food, beverages or wine ordered is chargeable. These extras must be paid by Mastercard on the day.
Here’s how the dates and pricing look.
KrisFlyer Experiences
Set Menu Events
Experience | Dates | Cost (for two) |
Dinner for two at Morsels 6pm or 8.30pm sitting (7-course menu) |
25 Sep 1 Oct 2 Oct |

Dinner for two at Lolla 6pm or 8.30pm sitting (5-course menu) |
22 Oct 23 Oct 24 Oct |
45,000 miles (additional beverages chargeable) |
Lunch for two at Jaan 12pm sitting (4-course menu) |
7 Oct 8 Oct 9 Oct |

Lunch for two at Meta (5-course menu) |
14 Oct 15 Oct 16 Oct |
65,000 miles (+S$98 or S$168 optional wine pairing per pax) |
With these new options, in the event of restaurant dine-in restrictions by the Singapore Government, the dining date will be postponed or a full refund of your KrisFlyer miles will be given.

This is a more lenient policy than the one that still applies for the three Michelin chef collaboration set menus we wrote about in July, which continue to have a takeaway-only option if dine-in restrictions are announced within three weeks of the respective events.
Ongoing experiences
Here’s a reminder of the collaboration menu experiences we wrote about last month, which are still available for redemption at the time of writing.

Note that for these collaboration events if there are dine-in restrictions imposed by the Singapore Government:
- Announced more than three weeks before the date of collaboration: The dining experience will be postponed.
- Announced less than three weeks before the date of collaboration: The dining experience will be converted to a takeaway dining experience.
No refunds will be entertained in either case, so do make sure you would be happy with collecting the dishes for consumption in your own home in the worst case scenario, for the same miles rate!
KrisFlyer Experiences also continues to offer two workshops on offer between now and the end of 2021, at Bynd Artisan in Holland Village, priced at 10,000 miles.

Is it good value?
As we’ve mentioned several times before, usually not! We aim to achieve at least 1.9 cents per KrisFlyer mile when redeeming for flights in Business Class and First Class, and it’s unlikely you’ll get anywhere close to that with these experience redemptions.
Of course it does boil down to your individual valuation of both KrisFlyer miles and the experiences themselves, which typically aren’t available for cash purchase.
Summary
Now that we have an approximate timeframe for potential quarantine-free travel, likely including options in Europe and North America, most of our readers will rightly be holding on to their KrisFlyer miles for their true value – a flight redemption – rather than one of these events.
While the dining sessions do sound enjoyable, the more expensive options are equivalent to a Business Class saver redemption from Singapore to Sydney, with the cheaper ones close to a Singapore – Tokyo rate, once borders open up!
In the meantime of course, Singapore Airlines is extending any expiring miles, so there should be no rush to redeem for non-flight alternatives if you don’t want to.
