Singapore Airlines adds more VTL flights from Europe and Los Angeles in December

Singapore Airlines is throwing on 12 additional VTL flights a week from London, Los Angeles, Milan and Paris in the run-up to Christmas.

Good news for those of you still needing to secure space on a designated Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flight to Singapore in time for Christmas, with SIA adding some more options next month from London, Los Angeles, Milan and Paris, allowing more quarantine-free arrivals.

With no quarantine from Singapore to these cities for vaccinated travellers, this also opens up more options in the other direction too, including another four weekly flights to London alone, for those still wanting to spend Christmas overseas but yet to plan their trip.

London

An extra London – Singapore VTL flight will operate four days a week from Thursday 9th December 2021 to Wednesday 22nd December 2021 inclusive, as shown in the following schedule.

This new SQ321 service will operate in addition to daily SQ305 and SQ319 non-VTL flights – be careful not to book the latter two if you need a quarantine-free arrival into Singapore.

SQ321 on the London – Singapore leg will also mean another Singapore – London option, where a specific VTL flight is not required in order to arrive with no quarantine, in the form of SQ318 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

SQ318 is back, for a couple of weeks at least, and award seats are available

This flight will offer a lunchtime departure to London with evening arrival the same day. A three-class Airbus A350 will be used.

SIA will therefore increase its total flights between Singapore and London from 21 to 25 flights per week during this two-week period, only three fewer than its pre-COVID frequency on the route.

This will also provide another Singapore – Los Angeles option (SQ40), operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. A three-class Airbus A350 will be used.

Again it’s worth grabbing the award space while you can on routes like this at a popular time of year.

Milan

This will also provide another Singapore – Milan option (SQ356), operating on Mondays and Fridays. A three-class Airbus A350 will be used.

You can still get to Italy in time for Christmas at saver award rates with this new SQ356 addition

Unlike SIA’s other Milan services currently operating, these additional flights over this two-week period will not continue to or from Barcelona.

Paris

This will also provide another Singapore – Paris option (SQ334), operating on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. A three-class Airbus A350 will be used.

The increase in Paris VTL flights also comes a few days after Air France upgraded all three of its weekly Singapore flights to quarantine-free status from 15th November 2021.

All designated VTL flights to Singapore

We’ve updated our full and continually updated list of designated VTL flights allowing you to arrive quarantine-free in Singapore, with around a dozen airlines now included in the scheme.

Each airline website will obviously only show you its own flight options, so be sure to bookmark the page – an essential resource when planning your VTL trip.

Summary

Singapore’s VTL scheme is continuing to expand, with Malaysia, Finland and Sweden coming on board from 29th November, and the daily arrival cap increasing from 4,000 to 6,000 passengers.

It looks as though SIA is taking advantage of that increased limit with these 12 additional weekly VTL flights from Europe and the USA ahead of the busy festive season.

These flights also bring with them brand new quarantine-free options in the Singapore – VTL country direction over the same period, which could be a useful option for many travellers, especially with some award space showing up in premium cabins.

Hopefully these additional flights can also be made long-term if the caps are lifted further, since there appears strong demand on many VTL routes right through to mid-January 2022.
