KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes deals for October 2022 announced

Redeem Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes deals with 30% off saver awards for travel in October 2022.
EXPIRED This article relates to an offer or promotion which has now expired.

Singapore Airlines is back with its regular monthly Spontaneous Escapes deal, offering discounted award redemptions for those who can make firm travel plans to and from selected destinations in October 2022, and can book by 30th September at the latest.

As usual, there’s 30% off the usual Saver miles redemption rates on offer when you lock in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class awards to and from these cities on the network next month.

Sadly the selection continues to be limited due to high travel demand and reduced capacity on many popular routes since borders reopened – after all Spontaneous Escapes is just SIA’s list of seats it no longer thinks it will sell next month, either for cash or at regular miles redemption rates.

If you do find a route of interest, you’ll need to book these ‘Promo’ awards over the next two weeks – between 15th September 2022 and 30th September 2022 – for travel in October, but remember there’s no flexibility and in most cases no refunds are allowed.

Redemption continues to only be available online at singaporeair.com, not via the mobile app, according to Singapore Airlines, though I am having no problems accessing the deal via the iOS app so this issue may have been resolved.

Terms and conditions

Here are the terms and conditions for the Spontaneous Escapes promotion.

October 2022 offer

  • A 30% discount on saver award redemptions for travel to and from selected destinations in October 2022.
  • Redeem online at singaporeair.com between 15th September 2022 and 30th September 2022.
  • Flights are non-refundable and non-changeable.
  • Blackout dates apply on some routes (see the full list below for details).
  • Book one-way legs if the discount only applies on one of the two (or more) flights you need. You cannot book one-way Promo (Spontaneous Escapes) and one-way Saver awards in the same booking.
  • Travel must be completed by 31st October 2022.
  • Book as many redemptions as you like at Spontaneous Escapes rates – it’s not capped.
  • You cannot waitlist for Promo (Spontaneous Escapes) redemptions.
  • For any flights cancelled by SIA, or if an SQ-operated flight was removed from a Spontaneous Escapes booking due to COVID-19 and governmental regulatory changes, the miles redeemed in the unused portion of the ticket will be refunded, with no additional fees charged.
  • Requests to change any booking details, or to retain the ticket for future use, will not be granted.

In a nutshell – be sure to have firm travel plans if you’re locking in a Spontaneous Escapes deal.

Some of our readers even choose their preferred route based on the aircraft or seat type, especially those looking to try one of the newer products for the first time!

Unfortunately Spontaneous Escapes Business Class awards this month are almost exclusively for the 2018 Regional Business Class seats, with the rare exception of some 2013 Business Class slots on the Christchurch – Singapore route (one-way only).

Here are the discounts on offer for travel in Business Class this month, with the aircraft types and seat types used for each eligible route and flight number shown alongside.
