KrisFlyer Experiences launched back in January 2020, promising money-can’t-buy experiences in exchange for your hard-earned KrisFlyer miles. As it happens, the launch came at possibly the worst time, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which caused its first public event – a live wine tasting session at the Regent Singapore – to be cancelled.

The format largely moved into the online arena during the pandemic (think online photography courses and fashion workshops), but since then physical events are back, with experiences including a Singapore Airlines dinner in a cable car or a KrisFlyer chartered trip on SIA to Langkawi including accommodation now part of the mix.
The concept even stretched overseas last year, with staycation and dining offers for members in Australia, Hong Kong and Indonesia, which continue to be occasionally offered.
New events
KrisFlyer Experiences has just launched 12 new local dining events in October and November 2022, for those looking to dispose of some KrisFlyer miles (despite no immediate expiry worries).

The main event is the Sunday brunch at Osteria BBR in Raffles Hotel, inclusive of 2 hours free-flow Prosecco, wines and cocktails.
This is an enhancement on the restaurant’s usual 90-minute window for free-flow during the Sunday brunch, with dishes separately priced rather than a “fixed menu” concept for KrisFlyer Experiences customers.
Here’s how the dates and pricing look for all four restaurants across all 12 dates.
KrisFlyer Experiences: Dining
Experience | Dates | Cost (for two) |
Sunday Brunch at Osteria (see menu) |

32,000 miles with complimentary glass of wine (BYOB at +S$50 per bottle corkage) |
While it’s not advertised as such, the Raffles Osteria brunch on 30th October seems to be an exclusive KrisFlyer event, with the restaurant not accepting any public reservations that day.

You can choose between 12pm, 12.30pm or 1pm sittings for this brunch event.
Note that in the event of no show, all these redemptions are deemed to be utilised, with no alternative arrangement permitted. Do be sure you will be attending if you decide to book.

Is it good value?
Most of the time no, given that we aim to achieve at least 1.9 cents per KrisFlyer mile when redeeming for flights in Business Class and First Class.
Of course it does boil down to your individual valuation of both KrisFlyer miles and the experiences themselves, which typically aren’t available for cash purchase, making a like-for-like comparison difficult.
34,000 miles, which we value at S$646, certainly seems steep for the Raffles Osteria BBR brunch, which would typically cost around S$320 for a couple, including free-flow Prosecco for 90 minutes, and assuming you ordered six dishes to share.
Granted this KrisFlyer Experiences version boasts two hours of free-flow and a slightly different menu than usual, but broadly speaking we think you’re cashing out your miles here at about half-value.
Summary
Spending your hard-earned KrisFlyer miles on flights is challenging at the moment, with demand still exceeding supply to and from most popular quarantine-free destinations on the Singapore Airlines network, but that doesn’t mean you should cash out for experiences like this, at perhaps half the ‘value’ of your stash.
Remember, Singapore Airlines is still extending any expiring miles until at least January 2023, and while that will likely be the last extension it does mean there should be no rush to redeem for non-flight alternatives just yet, if you don’t want to.
Despite current redemption challenges, the true value of KrisFlyer miles still lies in a flight redemption – rather than one of these events.
We’ll pass on these ones.
