Changi Airport has a new offer for users of its iChangi app, with an easy and free 3-hour lounge pass to the Changi Lounge in Jewel available to travellers who log in or sign up then follow a few simple steps to enjoy this perk when they fly to or from the airport between now and 28th February 2023.

Here’s how the promotion works.

Free 3-hour Changi Lounge access

You’ll need to follow these steps to obtain your complimentary lounge pass:

  • Log in or sign up for a Changi account via the iChangi app.
  • Save a pair of flights on your iChangi app (to receive flight update notifications). You don’t have to be travelling on these flights.
  • The perk will be available automatically via the “Travel” option on the app homepage (close and reload the app if it does not appear).

If you have already completed the steps above previously as an existing Changi member, as I had, you’ll find the lounge pass is unlocked automatically.

The pass is then available to be booked for S$0.00 and added to the “Passes” section in your Changi account.

The redemption link will be available until 29th January 2023, or when all passes have been redeemed, whichever is earlier.

The redeemed pass will be stored in your account for use until 28th February 2023.

You can then redeem the pass at the lounge reception using your digital Changi membership card stored in the app, when you’re next travelling.

Using your pass

Once you have saved the pass to your account, you can then enter the Changi Lounge under the “Lite” Package pass, worth S$25 + GST, which is inclusive of:

  • 3 hours lounge access
  • Free flow snack bar
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi

You must have a valid same-day boarding pass for a flight departing or arriving at Singapore Changi Airport in order to use the lounge in conjunction with this lounge pass, in common with access requirements for Dragon Pass and Priority Pass members.

Each pass admits only one traveller, so make sure everyone in your travelling party also follows the steps on the iChangi app to obtain a pass of their own.

Additional charges will apply for use of the nap pods and shower facilities, along with hot meals and alcohol, since these are not included in the “Lite” access package.

A 30-minute shower slow, for example, will cost you S$17++ (last slot at 9pm).

If you have an unlimited Priority Pass, like the one that comes with the Citi Prestige card, you’ll be better off accessing through that membership since complimentary hot food and shower access is included.

Full terms and conditions for the pass are available in the iChangi app itself.

About the lounge

The Changi Lounge is open from 8am to 10pm each day, with last orders taken at 9pm.

Here’s our review of the Changi Lounge, which is located at the T1 arrivals level just as you enter Jewel on the left hand side.

This is an ideal quiet place to get some work done for a few hours before heading into the transit area, with ample charging sockets and free Wi-Fi.

The lounge is quite handily located directly opposite the Jewel Early check-in facility, where many airlines now allow you to check-in several hours earlier than usual and have your boarding passes issued.

After your visit, the lounge is very close to the departure immigration area for T1, while T2 and T3 departures are around a 10-minute walk away across the Jewel link bridges.

T4, of course, is a different matter altogether!

Summary

If you’re travelling to or from Singapore in January or February 2023, this easy free 3-hour pass to Jewel Changi Airport may come in handy either prior to departure, or after landing if you prefer.

The saving is S$25++ compared to the regular walk-in rate, though you will actually have to be travelling to use the pass (otherwise it would just be full of Jewel shoppers!).

Be sure to complete the steps and add the pass to your Changi account sooner rather than later, even if you’re not sure whether you’ll use it or not, since redemptions are limited.

Hat-tip to David.
