UOB has launched a new promotion with Expedia over the next four weeks, offering its PRVI Miles cardholders an enhanced earn rate of 8 miles per S$1 spent on hotel and flight bookings between now and 11th June 2023.
This is a 33% enhancement on the regular year-round 6 mpd rate for these transactions, and could come in handy if you’re making travel plans for later in the year, or even into 2024.
The enhanced earn rate is capped at S$3,000 spend during this promotion, after which any subsequent eligible Expedia spend reverts back to the year-round uncapped 6 mpd rate.
If you can maximise the offer, that means earning 24,000 miles (S$3,000 x 8 mpd) instead of the usual 18,000 miles (S$3,000 x 6 mpd), an additional 6,000 miles.
Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be combined with that of the principal cardholder for the purposes of this offer.
How it works
To benefit from the enhanced earn rate at Expedia using your UOB PRVI Miles card, you’ll have to book through the dedicated microsite at www.expedia.com.sg/prvimiles.
|Spend category||Earn rate|
|Expedia transactions||6 mpd|
|Expedia bonus 15 May – 11 Jun||+ 2 mpd|
|Total||= 8 mpd|
Bookings can be made for any future travel date, but must be charged to your UOB PRVI Miles card between 15th May 2023 and 11th June 2023.
Eligible hotel bookings are those where you make payment to Expedia at the time of booking (not applicable if you choose a rate to pay later at the hotel).
Eligible flight bookings are those made with one of the following airlines:
- Batik Air
- EVA Air
- Garuda Indonesia
- Gulf Air
- Hawaiian Airlines
- Japan Airlines
- Korean Air
- Myanmar International Airways
- Qatar Airways
- Shenzhen Airlines
- SriLankan Airlines
- Thai Airways International
- Turkish Airlines
- Xiamen Airlines
Obviously some popular carriers including Singapore Airlines are missing from the list, but there are still potentially some useful options including Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways included.
Qatar Airways in particular has reinstated its fantastic Qsuite product on all Singapore flights recently – definitely one to try out if you haven’t already.
Package bookings comprising an eligible hotel and an eligible flight, as defined individually above, booked in a single transaction on the dedicated microsite, will also be eligible.
It probably goes without saying, but your booking(s) must be charged to your UOB PRVI Miles card for the bonus miles to apply – use of the microsite with payment by any other card will not count!
When do the bonus miles credit?
Initially your transactions will earn 6 mpd, comprising 1.4 mpd (SGD) or 2.4 mpd (FCY) plus the year-round bonus 4.6 mpd (SGD) or 3.6 mpd (FCY).
The additional bonus 2 mpd element will be credited by 31st July 2023.
Miles are awarded as UNI$, which convert 1:2 into the KrisFlyer and Asia Miles programmes, but are only awarded per S$5 of eligible spend.
Check Agoda and UOB Travel rates too
Don’t forget that apart from Expedia, the UOB PRVI Miles cards boast a year-round unlimited 6 mpd earn rate for Agoda hotel bookings and UOB Travel bookings on participating airlines and at most hotels.
Technically these offers end on 31st December 2023, but in our experience (like the Expedia one) they are always extended ,and are therefore considered de-factor year-round deals.
Do check the rates quoted through these portals for your preferred property or flight, since if they come in cheaper it may be worth sacrificing the additional 2 mpd available through Expedia during this promotion, plus there’s no S$3,000 cap to worry about with Agoda or UOB Travel.

If you’re making travel plans for 2023 or even 2024 and can lock in your bookings between now and 11th June 2023, do check the prices through Expedia with your UOB PRVI Miles card, which will net you 8 mpd if your flight, hotel or package fall into the eligible categories.
Remember that any hotel bookings must be prepaid directly to Expedia, while flights must be operated by an airline on the eligible list.
Most importantly, don’t go too mad! Only cumulative bookings of up to S$3,000 made during the four-week promotion will score 8 mpd – additional spend after that is back to the usual year-round 6 mpd rate, still good but not as good.
