Transfer KrisFlyer miles to KrisPay with 20-30% bonus

Cash out your KrisFlyer miles at 1.2 - 1.3 cents each when transferring to KrisPay miles between now and 30th September - a decent and flexible option for expiring balances.

Kris+ has launched a limited-time promotion offering KrisFlyer members a 20% to 30% bonus when transferring miles from their KrisFlyer account to KrisPay through the Kris+ app until 30th September 2025, enhancing the value of this one-way conversion option for those with expiring miles.

At the highest transfer levels, the enhanced rate means 100,000 KrisFlyer miles convert to approximately 130,000 KrisPay miles, improving the redemption value from the standard 1 cent per mile to 1.3 cents per mile.

Those cashing out smaller levels, like 5,000 KrisFlyer miles, still get a 20% bump to a respectable 1.2 cents per mile.

Here are the details of the promotion.

  • Dates: 9th September 2025 – 30th September 2025
  • Bonus: 20 – 30% uncapped transfer bonus
  • Minimum Transfer: 10 KrisFlyer miles
  • Processing: Instant and non-reversible
  • Validity: six months from the date of credit

The bonus miles you’ll receive during this campaign are based on the number of miles transferred, as outlined below.

KrisFlyer to Kris+ Transfer Bonus
Miles transferred in a single transaction Bonus miles awarded
10 – 5,999 20%
6,000 – 99,999 25%
100,000+ 30%

Transferring KrisFlyer miles to Kris+ is relatively straightforward.

When logged in to your account, just click the ‘Wallet’ icon, then ‘Top-up’.

All conversions are processed instantly but cannot be reversed once completed. KrisPay miles carry a six-month validity period and can be used at over 1,600 partner merchants across Singapore at a rate of 150 KrisPay miles per S$1.

With the 30% bonus in play, obtaining 130,000 KrisPay miles requires 100,000 KrisFlyer miles (compared to 130,000 miles at the standard rate), delivering 1.3 cents value per KrisFlyer mile redeemed.

A smaller transfer will net you 1.2 cents per mile or 1.25 cents per mile value – still reasonable for expiring balances.

While the 20-30% bonus represents a nice improvement over the year-round KrisFlyer to KrisPay transfer rate, it remains well below the value potential of premium award flights, which typically deliver 2+ cents per mile.

Even Scoot flights can offer north of 2 cents per mile in redemption value, as we recently analysed.

However, the enhanced rate does compare more favourably to some other ground-based and ‘cash-out’ redemption options:

  • Award flights: 2+ cents per mile
  • KrisPay with 30% bonus: 1.3 cents per mile
  • KrisPay with 25% bonus: 1.25 cents per mile
  • KrisPay with 20% bonus: 1.2 cents per mile
  • Cash + miles bookings: 1 cent per mile
  • KrisShop purchases: 1 cent per mile, often inflated pricing
  • Pelago activities: 1 cent per mile
  • Transfer to LinkPoints: 0.59 cents per mile

This promotion might therefore make sense for those with miles balances approaching expiration, or those seeking flexible spending options for everyday purchases in Singapore.

The instant processing and wide merchant network do offer some practical utility that other redemption options (e.g. KrisShop / Pelago) tend to lack.

For members actively earning through Kris+, the platform continues to offer valuable mile accumulation opportunities of up to 9 mpd on top of credit card points.

Remember to transfer any earned KrisPay miles to your KrisFlyer account within 21 days to maintain their full value (future flight redemptions) and avoid the six-month expiration.

When making purchases through Kris+, the platform retains the merchant category code of the underlying retailer. This allows you to maximise earn rates by using category-specific bonus cards for dining, retail or other purchases.

The following cards will earn at their bonus rates of between 3 mpd and 4 mpd for spend in the specific MCCs listed. You can check the MCC with the merchant in advance of your payment if you are unsure, though some are obvious (like restaurants – 5812).

Summary

This 20 – 30% KrisPay transfer bonus offers improved value for members seeking flexibility in their mile redemptions, though as always with these ‘cash-out’ options it cannot match the value of well-planned award flights.

Importantly, the bonus miles cannot be transferred back to KrisFlyer and remain permanently locked in the KrisPay ecosystem at 1 cents per mile value – so be careful.

This three-week promotion window provides a reasonable option for clearing small balances, or dealing with your expiring miles, but even at the higher transfer thresholds most KrisFlyer members should still not be considering 1.3 cents per mile, unless there are no better options left.
