Qantas has extended the opening hours at its Singapore International Business Lounge once again, and for the first time the Changi Terminal 1 facility now offers a morning opening every day of the week.
That’s great news for anyone departing on a morning Oneworld flight from Changi looking for a well-regarded spot for breakfast, a barista-style coffee or an early pre-departure tipple – though as you’ll see, some of those new morning openings land at rather unsociable hours.
Most of our readers don’t need reminding, but the longstanding Qantas International Business Lounge at Terminal 1 is open to those flying in Business Class with a Oneworld carrier.
It’s also accessible to eligible frequent flyers holding sufficient status, prior to departure on a Oneworld-operated flight from any terminal at the airport, including the likes of Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, JAL and Cathay Pacific.
New opening hours
From June 2026, the opening hours at the Qantas Singapore Business Lounge have been revised as follows.
| Qantas Singapore International Business Lounge Opening Hours ![]() |
||
| Day | Previous Hours | New Hours |
| Monday | 1.30pm – 1am | 3.20am – 12.15am |
| Tuesday | 8am – 10.15am 2.30pm – 1am |
7.50am – 10.15am 2pm – 12.15am |
| Wednesday | 1.30pm – 1am | 3.20am – 5.45am 2pm – 12.15am |
| Thursday | 1.30pm – 1am | 3.20am – 5.45am 11am – 12.15am |
| Friday | 8am – 10.15am 2.30pm – 1am |
3.20am – 10.15am 2pm – 12.15am |
| Saturday | 1.30pm – 1am | 7.30am – 11am 2pm – 12.15am |
| Sunday | 8am – 10.15am 2.30pm – 1am |
3.20am – 10.15am 2pm – 12.15am |
The headline here is that every day now features a morning session, where previously only Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays did. The trade-off is that the late-night closing has been trimmed slightly, from 1am to 12.15am, and as we mentioned above some of those early sessions are best described as super-early.
Why do the hours vary so much each day?
The afternoon through to post midnight session is a constant for this lounge. It’s there every day to support Qantas’s own evening bank of flights to Australia, including the Airbus A380 departures to Sydney and London.
What changes day to day is the morning picture, which is built around a handful of early Qantas, Oneworld and partner airline flights. The graphic below shows the new pattern at a glance.

Here’s the day-by-day reasoning:
Monday is the pick of the week – the lounge is effectively open all day.
The 3.20am start supports QF256 to Sydney at 6.20am, a service that now originates in Paris and routes via Singapore, having replaced the carrier’s nonstop Perth – Paris flight while Middle East airspace tensions persist. The lounge then stays open for QF78 to Perth at 10.30am and FJ362 to Nadi at 1.55pm, before simply rolling into the usual afternoon and evening Qantas peak. A true all-day affair.
Tuesday reverts to a single, limited morning window for eligible passengers on AF181 to Paris at 10.50am, before the regular afternoon session begins.
Wednesday sees the 3.20am opening again for QF256 to Sydney at 6.20am, but with nothing else to serve in the morning the lounge closes at 5.45am, reopening for the afternoon at 2pm.
Thursday follows the same early pattern as Wednesday, but the main session opens earlier, at 11am, to cater for FJ362 to Nadi at 1.55pm, after which it carries straight through to the late Qantas bank.
Friday is a bit of a mash-up. The 3.20am start once again serves QF256 to Sydney at 6.20am, then the lounge simply stays open for QF78 to Perth at 10.30am and AF181 to Paris at 10.50am.
Saturday is back to a single (but relatively sociable) morning window, for AF181 to Paris at 10.50am.
Sunday mirrors Friday, with the 3.20am opening flowing through to the late-morning departures.
Crucially, none of this stops eligible travellers on other Oneworld flights, or those getting a head start on the evening Qantas bank via early check-in, from using the lounge during these morning periods too.
One caveat worth keeping in mind is that those very early 3.20am openings hinge solely on QF256 from Paris, which only operates via Singapore because of the temporary Middle East rerouting. Qantas has indicated it will review that arrangement around late July 2026, so these particular pre-dawn starts may not prove permanent.

Other Oneworld departures that benefit
The lounge’s value isn’t limited to Qantas’s own flights. Plenty of other morning Oneworld departures from Changi fall within these new windows, making this a handy pre-flight option, including on an Avios or Asia Miles redemption to Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airlines, for example.

About the Qantas Singapore Business Lounge
The Qantas Singapore International Lounge is one of the best Business Class lounges at Singapore Changi Airport, including a manned bar, ample shower suites and excellent food options.
The facility has a huge 600-seat capacity, which is much-needed during the evening peak of Qantas departures that includes Airbus A380 services to London and Australia.

On the other hand, that makes it an enormous space for only a handful of morning Oneworld and partner airline departures, which is the case for some of its opening periods.
The lounge even offers a made-to-order food menu, in addition to a self-serve buffet selection.

Shower facilities are available for those who want to freshen up before their flight, with 20 private shower suites offered in this huge lounge.

There’s also super fast Wi-Fi, clocking in at 62 Mbps during our last visit.
Despite the lack of champagne, this lounge also boasts a full bar, including Little Creatures beer on tap.

We reviewed the lounge in September 2019, shortly before it was forced to close due to the pandemic, and aside from a lack of champagne (sparkling wine is offered), we rate it as among the better Business Class lounges out there.
What about the First Lounge?
There’s no such luck at the swankier Qantas Singapore First Lounge along the concourse, which retains its 3.30pm – 11pm daily opening.

No early-morning dibs here, sadly, though we still hold out hope for an à la carte breakfast option at this excellent facility in future perhaps.
Lounge access
The access rules are unchanged. In short, the Business Lounge is open to those flying on a Qantas, Emirates or Oneworld-operated flight in First or Business Class, or in a lower cabin while holding sufficient Qantas, Emirates or Oneworld status.
Here’s the detailed breakdown.
Passengers flying on a Qantas or Emirates flight, or on a Oneworld member operated flight:
- in First Class or Business Class; or
- in Premium Economy or Economy Class and holding Qantas Platinum One, Platinum or Gold status, Emirates Platinum or Gold Skywards status* or Oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status**
* Qantas or Emirates flights only
** Qantas or Oneworld flights only

Passengers flying on Air France or KLM:
- in Business Class or First Class (Air France); or
- in Premium Economy or Economy Class and holding Flying Blue Gold or Platinum status, or SkyTeam Elite Plus status.
- in Premium Economy or Economy Class and holding Qantas Platinum One or Platinum status, when flying on a QF codeshare flight number.

Passengers flying on a Jetstar flight:
- on a Jetstar Business Max fare; or
- holding Qantas Platinum One, Platinum or Gold status.
Note: Jetstar flights from Singapore Changi Airport depart from Terminal 2.

Qantas Club members flying on a Qantas (QF) or Jetstar (JQ) flight number are permitted access.
Early check-in helps too
These extended hours don’t only benefit those with earlier departures on Oneworld carriers.
Qantas and several other airlines participate in Changi’s Early Check-In programme at Jewel, so from 8am each day passengers can check in, drop bags and clear into the transit area to lounge-hop ahead of a much later departure the same day or in the early hours of the following morning.
See our recently updated guide on all the latest options for more information.
Summary
For the first time, the Qantas Singapore Business Lounge now opens in the morning every day of the week, a great improvement for eligible travellers on early Oneworld departures from Changi, even if a couple of those openings demand a very early alarm clock!
With a morning coffee, a proper breakfast and a manned bar all on offer, it remains one of the better ways to start a journey from Terminal 1, or even another terminal at Changi, whether you’re off to Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia Airlines or further afield on JAL, Qatar Airways or the busy evening Qantas bank.

Hi, if the lounge closes at 11am on Saturday, is it usable for eligible passengers on flights UL307, MH604, QR943, QF78 & MH614?
Good question! Yes for MH614 (that one is already ticked in the table for Saturday), and yes for MH604 (my bad, missed that and now ticked).
However it’s a no for UL307, QR943 and QF78 as these currently don’t operate on Saturdays, based on June 2026 schedules, hence no tick for now.
