Hilton Singapore one of 204 hotels now approved for staycations

The popular Hilton Singapore on Orchard Road has joined the list of those approved hotel for staycation bookings in Singapore, which now encompasses over half of all hotels in the city. Two budget properties have also been added, for a total of 204 hotels across Singapore.

Room inventory at the Hilton has not yet been updated to reflect the reopening, with earliest booking dates still showing as 15th September 2020, however low rates from S$168++ per night are widely available in October.

That should make this an excellent value staycation option, especially as the formal date for booking comes forward and staycation deals hopefully become announced too.

  Which hotels now allow staycations?

Here is the latest list from the STB, split by property type for ease of reading, with the Hilton and two other budget properties now added to the previous selection highlighted as shown.

The ‘new’ staycation experience

Your staycation in Phase 2 of Singapore’s progressive relaxation of lockdown measures should give you something close to a full experience, with most facilities like swimming pools, bars, restaurants and gyms open and available for use.

These facilities are operating in accordance with ‘Safe Management Measures’, including social distancing.

Some hotels are not opening for leisure visits at this stage, since they are designated as government-contracted facilities for COVID-19 quarantine purposes. Many of these hotels are allowed to open however, provided rooms / floors or blocks are segregated between SHN guests and regular visitors.

Marina Bay Sands is one such example, now accepting staycation guests while also acting as an SHN facility.

Summary

The popular Hilton on Orchard Road should bring with it some great value staycation deals once it formally starts taking bookings, and we’re eager to see what offers become available.

If you can’t wait until then, there are 203 alternative options across Singapore, including 27 other luxury properties and 36 mid-range hotels, so there should be something to satisfy everyone in terms of taste and budget.
