A relatively new trend among Singapore hotels recently has been the ‘work from hotel’ or ‘daycation’ package, allowing properties to earn some additional revenue especially during quieter midweek periods from those needing a change to the work from home routine.
In a recent study by Singapore Workforce Research, 29% of Singapore residents working from home said it takes them more time to be as productive as they would be in their regular office environment, with two-thirds of parents stating that practical constraints, such as family presence, distractions or lack of space, were the main challenges they faced while working from home.

At least 10 local hotels now have day use work or ‘daycation’ packages on offer, including use of your own private room, with one of the latest additions we saw which looked like a good value deal coming from the Fairmont Singapore.
‘Ultimate Daycation’
The Fairmont’s ‘Ultimate Daycation’ package is available Monday to Thursday until 30th December 2020, priced from S$145++, and includes the following:
- Day use of a Fairmont Room for up to 2 adults and 2 children from 8am to 7pm
- Free unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi for multiple devices
- Nespresso coffee / TWG tea / Drinking water in room
- S$75 nett dining credits that can be used at SKAI, Prego, Anti:Dote, Mikuni, The Eight (poolside), and for in-room dining during your stay
- Access to outdoor swimming pools, fitness centre and spa facilities, including Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and hot/cold plunge pools
- Access to sunbeds, towel service and changing facilities

The dining credits are the big draw here. You can apply them to room service, at the poolside bar or several other bars and restaurants in the Fairmont / Swissotel complex, like Prego, SKAI and Anti:Dote.
When offset against the S$145++ room rate (S$170 nett), you’re effectively getting a hotel room for 11 solid hours, plus use of the facilities, for S$95.

It’s worth noting that advance booking is required for access to swimming pools, fitness centre and spa facilities and is limited to 2-hour use for swimming pools and 2.5-hour use for both the fitness centre and spa.
With a mid-week booking during the daytime under this offer we suspect availability won’t be a significant issue, especially given that the 1,200+ room Swissotel next door (which usually shares these facilities) is currently closed to leisure guests.
Just be aware that you may have to ‘tailor’ your day around available time slots.

Accor Live Limitless

If you’re an Accor Live Limitless member, the Fairmont confirmed to us that you can:
- Earn ALL points and status points; or
- Redeem ALL points to settle your bill
when staying on an ‘Ultimate Daycation’, however the stay will not count as a qualifying night for status purposes.
Earning points would net you between 225 and 395 ALL points for this stay, depending on your Accor status level.
Redeeming ALL points is at a fixed EUR40 value (approximately S$65) per block of 2,000 points used.
Regular staycation offer
The Fairmont is offering overnight rates from S$305++ per night in its current ‘Upsized Staycation Offer’ in a Fairmont Room, inclusive of complimentary parking, a S$100 dining voucher and a S$50 return stay voucher, plus you can get a second room or second night at 50% off on a room-only basis.
Larger Signature Suites are available from S$335++ on the same basis, with some dates offering Fairmont Gold Room availability, including Fairmont Gold Lounge access, from S$365++.

Other ‘work from hotel’ deals
Last month we took a look at eight ‘work from hotel’ or ‘daycation’ offers across Singapore, with options ranging from lyf Funan to The Fullerton Bay.
We’ve updated that analysis to include this Fairmont offer, plus another mid-week option from the newly reopened Andaz Singapore, also including pool and gym access though not as good a deal in our opinion with only S$30 of dining credits.
