Win 214,000 KrisFlyer miles with Kris+ and iStudio

Get a prize draw entry for every S$80+ purchase via Kris+ at iStudio stores between now and 31st October 2022, for a chance to win 214,000 KrisFlyer miles.

Kris+ is offering entries into a prize draw over the next few weeks for customers of one of its partner merchants iStudio, the largest Apple reseller in Singapore, which also offers a range of electronic goods and accessories from the likes of Belkin, Gear4, and mophie.

iStudio has been a Kris+ partner since May 2022, already allowing you to accrue 3 miles per S$1 spent on all products when making payment via Apple Pay or Google Pay via the app.

This already makes iStudio a good option for earning extra miles when purchasing Apple (or other) products, especially for big-ticket items like phones and laptops.

The retailer is even offering the latest iPhone 14 on pre-order for shipping or in-store collection, and if you’re travelling soon the outlets at Changi Airport’s T1 and T3 transit areas even allow you to buy tax-free (7% saving) and still earn 3 mpd on top of your credit card points.

214,000 KrisFlyer miles promo

Kris+ and iStudio are offering one winner a grand total of 214,000 KrisFlyer miles in a new prize draw giveaway.

Every time you spend S$80 or more (before GST) on any product at an iStudio Singapore outlet between 8th September 2022 and 31st October 2022 using the Kris+ app to earn an additional 3 mpd on the purchase, you’ll earn one entry into the prize draw.

You can accrue as many entries into the draw as you like, but you cannot split a larger transaction into smaller payments to gain multiple entries (e.g. a single S$320 + GST transaction is still only one entry, not four).

The winner of the miles will be announced via iStudio’s social media platforms.

Terms and conditions for the offer are available here.

Note that you’ll also get an entry whenever redeeming KrisPay miles through the Kris+ app in whole or part for your S$80+ iStudio purchase, but we do not recommend using your miles this way, since you’ll get a lousy 0.67 cents value per mile.

Our advice? Only earn miles using the Kris+ app where possible, then transfer them straight to your KrisFlyer account (time limit: 7 days), where you’ll get best value from them for a flight redemption in future.

What does 214,000 miles get you?

214,000 KrisFlyer miles is enough to redeem a Saver return flight from Singapore to the US West Coast or Canada in Business Class on Singapore Airlines, which includes the following cities:

  • Los Angeles
  • Seattle
  • San Francisco
  • Vancouver

While that’s iStudio’s example redemption, you’re certainly not limited to that option and in fact the lucky winner can use these 214,000 miles however they like.

Alternative awards you can achieve with 214,000 miles would include:

  • A return trip for two pax in Saver Business Class from Singapore to Japan or South Korea.
  • Five round-trips from Singapore to Bali in Saver Business Class.
  • A Saver First Class or Suites redemption to London, plus a Premium Economy redemption on the way back to Singapore.

There are 22 iStudio store locations across Singapore, including two currently available in the transit area at Changi Airport for tax-free purchases.

iStudio also offers Kris+ customers a 10% discount on third-party products and accessories (i.e. non-Apple-branded), or 15% for PPS Club members.

Which card to use

iStudio purchases via the Kris+ app should code under MCC 5732: Electronics Stores, allowing you to tap into the 4 mpd earn rate with the HSBC Revolution card or OCBC Titanium Rewards card.

The DBS WWMC should also earn its 4 mpd rate for these transactions, since it categorises paying at a merchant using Apple Pay or Google Pay via the Kris+ app as online spend (any MCC), last time we tested it.

Even if you don’t hold one of these cards, or you’ve already maxed out the monthly or annual bonus category spend, a relatively mundane general spend option like the Citi PremierMiles will still net you 1.2 mpd, plus the 3 mpd from Kris+ itself, for a total effective earning of 4.2 mpd.

You’ll earn 3 mpd on iStudio purchases made using Kris+ on top of any credit card rewards.

If you’re in the market for an Apple product or an accessory purchase, iStudio already offers a bonus of 3 mpd when you pay using the Kris+ app, on top of your regular credit card points.

There’s now an added incentive, which is a prize draw entry for every Kris+ purchase at iStudio of S$80 (excluding GST) or more between now and the end of October, with the winner picking up a very generous 214,000 KrisFlyer miles, enough to fly to the west coast of the USA and back in Business Class on a Saver award.

  1. #DP. Managed a purchase for the third-party screen protector and lens protector for my iPhone 14 at the outlet in Funan Mall. Was told that these third party screen protector and lens protector are not eligible for the discount.
