Singapore Airlines offering 25% off Economy and Premium Economy awards for 2024 travel

Singapore Airlines has launched a Global Redemption Sale for those making travel plans in January 2024, with 25% off all Economy Class Saver award tickets and all non-stop Singapore – USA flights in Premium Economy Class, when you book over the next seven days.

This allows you to redeem Economy Class flights from 6,375 miles and Premium Economy Class flights on those long-haul non-stop routes from 56,250 miles.

The downside? These ‘Promo’ awards are subject to the usual ‘no refund, no cancellation’ terms.

It’s not known at this stage whether this latest offer replaces the regular monthly Spontaneous Escapes deal, typically which offers 30% off Economy, Premium Economy and Business saver awards to and from selected destinations on the network, for travel the following month.

Here’s how the latest redemption promotion works.

The key here is the non-changeable and non-refundable nature of these Promo awards, but for those who have firm travel plans and don’t mind flying in Economy, the deal could prove particularly useful for locking in a trip during the peak school holiday periods in May and June 2024, for example.

Economy Class deals

For Economy Class, Singapore Airlines is offering a 25% redemption discount on all Saver awards, regardless of the origin or destination of your flight, for travel between 1st January 2024 and 31st July 2024.

That means awards start from as little as 6,375 miles.

Here’s how many miles the redemptions will price at by route, based on one-way travel or from Singapore.

At the top end, a 44,000 miles Economy Class Saver award to or from the likes of New York and Houston costs 33,000 miles during this promotion – a one-way saving of 11,000 miles per person.

The nice thing about this deal is that it works network-wide, so you’re not necessarily restricted to a redemption purely to or from Singapore.

Those redeeming, for example, from Sydney to London via Singapore will also see a 25% discount reflected.

As you can see in this example, the usual Economy Saver award rate of 58,500 miles is replaced with a 43,875 miles deal (25% off), on selected flights.

Premium Economy Class deals

For Premium Economy Class, Singapore Airlines is offering a 25% discount for travel between 1st January 2024 and 31st July 2024 on the following Saver awards.

No more mqSQupgrade for award tickets

For both Economy and Premium Economy deals, don’t book hoping to get an upgrade offer within 72 hours of departure.

Singapore Airlines removed all award tickets and selected cheaper Economy Class and Premium Economy Class fares from mySQupgrade eligibility earlier this month.

Fingers crossed that there will be a good range of promotions (and no devaluations!) during the 25th anniversary year.

Singapore Airlines is offering 25% off Saver awards in Economy Class network-wide for travel between 1st January 2024 and 31st July 2024, provided you can book in the next seven days and have firm travel plans, since the Promo rates are not refundable.

It remains to be seen whether this is a one-off promotion, or whether it may ultimately replace the popular monthly Spontaneous Escapes deal, which has not been released for November 2023 travel at the time of writing.

Perhaps a very short Spontaneous Escapes will appear on 23rd October, when this promotion has ended.
