Scoot KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes for October 2026 announced

SIA’s budget airline Scoot is back with its monthly KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes award redemption discount offer, with the deal for October 2026 offering the usual 15% off saver redemption rates on selected routes across the low cost carrier’s network.

As with Singapore Airlines Spontaneous Escapes deal, you’ll need to secure your tickets within the next two weeks, though the sooner the better is a good plan, since award seats at these discounted rates are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Deals this month include Malacca, Langkawi or KL for just 1,275 miles, Phuket for 2,125 miles, Bali for 3,825 miles, Nha Trang for 5,100 miles, Melbourne for 10,625 miles and Athens or Vienna for 20,400 miles.

Always remember though that Scoot Economy fares can be very competitive, even for short-term travel, and taxes are still payable on award tickets, so a discounted rate doesn’t automatically represent good value. We’ve added a calculator further down the page to help you work that out before committing.

If you do find a route of interest, you’ll need to book these ‘Scoot Promo’ awards over the next two weeks – between 15th September 2026 and 30th September 2026 – for travel in October 2026, but remember there’s no flexibility and no refunds are allowed, as usual with Scoot awards using KrisFlyer miles.

Scoot awards using KrisFlyer miles are always non-refundable year-round, so there is no loss of flexibility when booking a Spontaneous Escapes award on these flights for October 2026, since you always need to be committed to these ‘use them or lose them’ redemptions on the low-cost carrier anyway.

Is it worth it?

Scoot cash fares are often very competitive, even at short notice, and you still pay taxes and fees on an award ticket, so a discounted rate isn’t automatically a good deal.

The sum is simple enough. Take the cash fare, subtract the taxes and fees you’d pay on the award anyway, and divide what’s left by the number of miles needed. That tells you what each mile is actually earning you.

As a rough guide, anything under 1 cent per mile is worse than simply cashing your miles out through Kris+ or KrisShop, so it isn’t worth doing even if your miles are about to expire.

Between 1 cent and 1.5 cents you’re in territory KrisFlyer cash-out promotions will sometimes match.

Above 1.5 cents you’re doing better than you can usually cash out for, and at 2 cents and above it’s a redemption worth making.

Bear in mind Singapore Airlines redemptions, particularly in the premium cabins and particularly at Spontaneous Escapes rates, will usually value your miles more highly than a Scoot Economy seat will – so if you’re sitting on a decent non-expiring balance and have no fixed plans, that’s almost always the better use for them.

What if you already booked?

Existing Scoot bookings at normal award rates are non-refundable, so unfortunately you are now stuck with your full-priced award even if it is now included in the Spontaneous Escapes deal.
