KrisFlyer Singapore Airlines Spontaneous Escapes

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes for October 2026 announced

Redeem Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes deals for travel in October 2026, with 30% off Saver award rates, now including interactive maps.

KrisFlyer has launched its monthly Spontaneous Escapes promotion for October 2026, offering discounts of 30% on Singapore Airlines Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class award bookings to and from a selection of destinations across its network.

As usual, to take advantage of the 30% savings you’ll need to secure your tickets within the next two weeks, though the sooner the better is a good plan, since award seats at these discounted rates are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If any of the destinations on this month’s list catch your eye and you’re able to make firm travel plans for next month, it’s definitely worth seizing the opportunity to book one of these seats at the discounted rate.

Deals this month for the low-cost carrier also include Phuket for 2,125 miles, Bali for 3,825 miles, Nha Trang for 5,100 miles, Melbourne for 10,625 miles and Athens or Vienna for 20,400 miles. See the full list for those flights here.

If you do find a route of interest, you’ll need to book these ‘Promo’ awards over the next two weeks – between 15th September 2026 and 30th September 2026 – for travel in October 2026, but remember there’s no flexibility and in most cases no refunds are allowed.

Following many reader requests, this month we’ve launched a map of SIA’s Spontaneous Escapes destinations for October 2026, which also allows you to filter by cabin class, zoom in on particular regions, and easily see blackout dates for the city of your choice.

Business Class Deals

As always, we’re the only site showing the aircraft type and the Business Class seat product planned for these routes flight number by flight number, to help you choose better and travel smarter on your discounted Spontaneous Escapes getaway.

Scoot Deals

Since April 2026, the Spontaneous Escapes deal now includes Scoot flights, made possible since the carrier adopted a fixed-price award chart for KrisFlyer redemptions.

You can see the full list of Scoot Spontaneous Escapes offers for October 2026 at our dedicated article here.

Terms and conditions

Here are the terms and conditions for the Spontaneous Escapes promotion.

October 2026 offer

  • A 30% discount on saver award redemptions for travel to and/or from selected destinations in October 2026.
  • Redeem SIA flights online at singaporeair.com or via the SingaporeAir mobile app, between 15th September 2026 9am (SGT) and 30th September 2026 11.59pm (SGT).
  • Travel must commence no earlier than 1st October 2026 and be completed by 31st October 2026.
  • Flights are non-refundable and non-changeable.
  • Blackout dates apply on some routes (see the full lists below for details).
  • Book one-way legs if the discount only applies on one of the two (or more) flight numbers you need. You cannot book one-way Promo (Spontaneous Escapes) and one-way Saver / Advantage awards in the same booking.
  • Book as many redemptions as you like at Spontaneous Escapes rates – it’s not capped.
  • You cannot waitlist for Promo (Spontaneous Escapes) redemptions.
  • Requests to change any booking details, or to retain the ticket for future use, will not be granted.

In a nutshell – be sure to have firm travel plans if you’re locking in a Spontaneous Escapes deal.

Book the ‘Promo’ award category

Singapore Airlines offers the Spontaneous Escapes deals under its “Promo” award category, which you’ll see alongside the usual Saver, Advantage and Access award rates on applicable flights.

If the Promo award rate is not shown for your preferred flight, even though it is listed as part of the offer, that unfortunately means there is no availability remaining at the Spontaneous Escapes rate (but do check back later, like Saver and Advantage award space – it can come and go).

The “Promo” award category also means Spontaneous Escapes award capacity can be loaded as a subset of the Saver award space. This allows you to continue to book at Saver rates (if you prefer the flexibility, for example), or allows the airline to stop offering Spontaneous Escapes rates on a particular flight, while not necessarily having to remove the Saver rate at the same time, like they did under the previous system.

This also opens up the possibility of securing discounted bookings for larger groups.

For example, if three of you are traveling but only two Promo (Spontaneous Escapes) award seats are available for your desired flight, you can potentially redeem the two available Promo seats and then one Saver seat on a separate booking.

This way, you can still effectively enjoy a 20% overall mileage discount across your group, compared to booking three regular-rate Saver awards.

What if you already booked?

If you have already redeemed your miles on a Singapore Airlines flight that has now become eligible for the Spontaneous Escapes offer, unfortunately there’s no simple way to change it and pay the reduced miles rate.

You will have to book again at the Spontaneous Escapes rate, then cancel the existing booking and pay the miles redeposit fee (don’t do it the other way round, in case the Spontaneous Escapes Promo space disappears in the meantime!).

This will require you to have sufficient miles in your account to immediately lock in the Spontaneous Escapes rate.

If you need the miles from the original booking in order to make the Spontaneous Escapes one due to an insufficient balance, be very careful!

Since you will first have to cancel the original booking, you are now at the mercy of the Spontaneous Escapes space remaining available on the flight, and it can sometimes take a few days for the miles from your original cancelled booking to be re-credited to your account.

Full details

For full details of this month’s Spontaneous Escapes offer, including terms and conditions (but sadly not including the aircraft type and seat type details we have provided above!), head over to the KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes promo page.

Scoot’s Spontaneous awards list, meanwhile, is available here.

Summary

KrisFlyer’s regular monthly Spontaneous Escapes deal is back for travel in October 2026, for those who can make short-term travel plans.

Good offers in Business Class include Cairns for 50,400 miles, Shanghai and Beijing for 31,500 miles, Bangkok for 17,500 miles and Bali for 15,400 miles.

In Economy, Sydney for 20,300 miles is a decent rate, as are Hong Kong and Taipei for 10,850 miles, Bangkok for 9,100 miles and Bali for 5,600 miles.

This month selected Scoot flights remain part of the deal, with 15% off instead of the usual 30% rate still applicable to SIA awards, though that does mean the ability to secure award tickets from just 1,275 miles one-way.

For SIA, 30% off brings awards down to 5,600 miles on the shorter flights.

Check out the full SIA deal here and the full Scoot deal here, and do refer to our seat types summary for Business Class in the tables above to pick the aircraft with the best cabin product for your routing.

Remember if you’re unable to secure a return flight at the discounted rates, book two one-way tickets instead. You’ll pay the ‘Promo’ rate one-way and the usual ‘Saver’ rate for the non-discounted sector, but at least the whole itinerary will not be at the usual rate (and a 15% saving is still welcome).
