If you regularly shop or dine at CapitaLand malls like Plaza Singapura, Raffles City or IMM Building, there’s now a new way to earn a little extra from your Kris+ spend, by double-dipping with CapitaStar STAR$.
Link your CapitaStar account to the Kris+ app once, and then whenever you pay with Kris+ at a participating merchant in one of these malls, you’ll earn CapitaStar STAR$ on top of your usual KrisPay miles. The only conditions are that each payment is S$20 or more, and of course that the merchant accepts Kris+.
Until now, you effectively had to pick one or the other at these stores. Earning STAR$ meant paying in a way CapitaStar could track, such as a linked Mastercard, DBS/POSB card or ShopBack Pay, and that ruled out paying through Kris+.
It was never a difficult choice for our readers, since Kris+ typically wins comfortably, but now you don’t have to make it.
The new link coincides with CapitaStar’s 15th anniversary, so there are some launch bonuses too:
- a S$15 rebate on a single S$150 spend in October, which continues at S$12 from November to March 2027
- 10X bonus STAR$ throughout October
How to link your accounts
You’ll need the Kris+ app, the CapitaStar app, and your 15-digit CapitaStar member ID to get things set up.
Step 1: Find your CapitaStar member ID
In the CapitaStar app, open the side menu and tap your name at the top. This takes you to My Account.
Tap your name and your 15-digit member ID is then shown under “Member ID”, with a handy Copy button next to it.
Step 2: Link in Kris+
In the Kris+ app, go to Account > Linked Accounts, where you’ll see CapitaStar listed. Tap Link.
Paste or enter your CapitaStar member ID, then tap “Link my account”.
The T&Cs say linking requires verification by SMS OTP, but we weren’t asked for one. The link went through instantly, with a “Linked successfully” confirmation.
Back on the Linked Accounts page, CapitaStar now shows as Linked.
You must link the accounts before you pay. Transactions made before linking won’t be credited retrospectively.
Each CapitaStar account can only be linked to one Kris+ account at a time.
Launch offers
To mark the launch and CapitaStar’s 15th anniversary, CapitaStar and Kris+ have lined up several bonuses, including one for new Kris+ users.
1. Kris+ rebate: S$15 in October, S$12 from November
From 1st October 2026 (9am) to 31st October 2026 (11.59pm), Kris+ will credit 1,500 KrisPay miles, worth around S$15, when you make a single Kris+ payment of S$150 or more at a participating merchant.
The catch is that linking your accounts isn’t enough on its own. You also need to start the “CapitaStar Rebates” challenge in the Kris+ app.
You can start the challenge after you’ve made the qualifying payment, as long as you do it before the end of October. If you never start it, you won’t get the rebate, even if your spend qualifies.
The other conditions are:
- One transaction: the S$150 minimum must be met in a single payment. Multiple smaller transactions can’t be combined.
- Link first: your CapitaStar account must be linked to Kris+ before you pay.
- Once only: each member can get the rebate once during the promotion.
- First 1,000 only: rewards go to the first 1,000 members to start the challenge and complete a qualifying payment, so don’t leave it until late October.
- Excluded payments: Chope, Pelago and KrisShop transactions made through the Kris+ app don’t count, and voided or refunded transactions don’t qualify.
Importantly, these rebate miles can’t be transferred to KrisFlyer. They can only be spent within the Kris+ app, at 100 KrisPay miles per S$1. That’s unlike the KrisPay miles you earn on regular Kris+ spending, which you can transfer to KrisFlyer within 21 days of crediting.

The offer then continues from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027, at a slightly lower 1,200 KrisPay miles (around S$12) for the same S$150 minimum spend. Terms for this second phase haven’t been published yet, so we don’t know whether it will also be capped or limited to one rebate per member.
2. 10X bonus STAR$ in October
As part of its birthday celebrations, CapitaStar is offering 10X bonus STAR$ on top of the base STAR$ throughout October. This applies to a single spend of S$80 or more with any linked payment method, and Kris+ counts.
The conditions are:
- Cap: the bonus is capped at 15,000 STAR$ (S$15 in eCapitaVouchers).
- Frequency: one bonus per member, per mall, per day.
- Limited redemptions: each mall has a limited number, ranging from 150 at the smaller malls like Bugis+ and CQ @ Clarke Quay to 3,000 at Funan, Tampines Mall and Westgate.
- Exclusions: supermarkets and hypermarkets don’t qualify.
At 5 STAR$ per S$1, a S$150 spend earns 750 base STAR$ plus 7,500 bonus STAR$. That’s S$8.25 in eCapitaVouchers, or 5.5%, which is a much more meaningful return than the base rate alone.

3. Putting it together
Stack the October offers and the numbers look quite different. Take a S$150 purchase at Herschel in Funan, which earns 6 mpd with Kris+:
- 900 KrisPay miles from Kris+ (S$16.20 at our 1.8 cent valuation)
- 1,500 rebate KrisPay miles (S$15.00 to spend in Kris+)
- 8,250 STAR$ including the 10X bonus (S$8.25 in eCapitaVouchers)
- plus your credit card earning on top
That’s around S$39 back on S$150, or 26%, before any credit card miles.
4. New Kris+ users
If you’re not yet using Kris+, the first 500 people to sign up with promo code KPCS2026 will get 1,000 KrisPay miles (S$10) on their first Kris+ transaction of S$5 or more. Like the rebate miles, these are only usable within Kris+.
Which merchants qualify?
To earn both currencies, the merchant has to meet two conditions:
- it must be a Kris+ earn partner, and
- it must have premises in a CapitaStar Participating Property, meaning one of the CapitaLand properties taking part in the programme.
The catch is that this works outlet by outlet, not brand by brand.
There are 25 participating properties: 20 malls and five office buildings. ION Orchard, Paragon and Jewel Changi Airport are specifically excluded, even though they appear in CapitaLand’s mall directory.
Take Absolute Bedding, for example, which earns 3 mpd via Kris+ at three outlets across Singapore. Only one of them, at IMM Building, is in a CapitaLand mall, and that’s where you’ll also earn 5 STAR$ per S$1.
The other two outlets still earn 3 mpd with Kris+, but no STAR$.
The “Participating Merchants” section in the Kris+ app doesn’t list them either, and simply points you to CapitaStar.
Thankfully, the store directory on the CapitaLand website has an “Earn STAR$ with Kris+” filter. That’s where our list below comes from. CapitaStar also has an official Earn with Kris+ page.
At the time of writing, 107 Kris+ merchants qualify, across 199 outlets in 14 of the participating malls. The other malls and the office buildings don’t currently have any Kris+ merchants listed. Almost all of the 107 merchants earn 5 STAR$ per S$1, with a handful on 1 STAR$ per S$1.

Kris+ year-round earn rates are correct as of our September 2026 Kris+ merchants update. The list is likely to change as more merchants join Kris+ in future.
Some of these merchants may also be earning boosted rates in October as part of the Kris+ Birthday Bash, which would make them even more attractive this month.
As Kris+ itself suggests, it’s still worth confirming with the merchant that they accept Kris+ before you pay.
What are STAR$ worth?
Not much, it has to be said.
STAR$ are worth a fixed 0.1 cents each when redeemed for eCapitaVouchers, which can be spent at participating CapitaLand malls. That’s 1,000 STAR$ per S$1 of vouchers.
Alternatively, you can convert STAR$ to KrisFlyer miles at 25 STAR$ per mile. That means:
- a minimum of 5,000 STAR$ (200 miles) per conversion
- a maximum of 350,000 STAR$ per conversion, and 350,000 STAR$ per calendar year
The same 5,000 STAR$ to 200 miles ratio applies if you convert to KrisPay miles instead, via Wallet > Top-up in the Kris+ app. Be aware that KrisPay miles topped up this way can only be used against future Kris+ purchases.
At a typical 5 STAR$ per S$1 earn rate, that works out to:
- 0.5% back in eCapitaVouchers, or
- 0.2 mpd if you convert to KrisFlyer miles, worth 0.36 cents per S$1 if you value a KrisFlyer mile at 1.8 cents.
The vouchers are the better use, at roughly 40% more value than the miles conversion, provided you shop at CapitaLand malls anyway.
Earn rates vary by retailer and are set by CapitaStar, so check the store’s listing on the CapitaLand website.
We’ve covered the STAR$ to KrisFlyer conversion before. The ratio has improved slightly since 2021, from 9,880 STAR$ for 380 miles (26 per mile) to 25 per mile, but it’s still a poor deal.
Worked example
Here’s how a S$1,000 purchase at Absolute Bedding’s IMM Building outlet stacks up.

The STAR$ add just 0.5% on top of the 5.4% return from Kris+ alone. It’s hardly life-changing, but it costs nothing once you’ve linked.
Note that STAR$ conversions to miles run in 5,000 STAR$ blocks. A S$1,500 purchase would earn 7,500 STAR$, which converts to 200 miles and leaves 2,500 STAR$ over. That’s another reason to lean towards the vouchers.

Transfer KrisPay miles straight to KrisFlyer
As always, you should transfer KrisPay miles earned from these transactions immediately to your KrisFlyer account.
You only have 21 days to do so before the miles are stuck in KrisPay, with a poor 1 cent rebate value each against future purchases, and an expiry date just six months later.
Our advice is to just do the transfer there and then, by pressing the Transfer to KrisFlyer button, in case you forget or partially use the earned miles by mistake before transferring, which also locks all of them into KrisPay miles permanently.
However, there’s now the option to auto-transfer accrued KrisPay miles to your KrisFlyer account without having to go through these additional clicks.
You can do so via the Wallet > Transfer to KrisFlyer page. Simply enable the ‘Auto-transfer to KrisFlyer’ button as shown above, and the process will be automated whenever you accrue KrisPay miles at a merchant.
Key terms and conditions
- Each transaction must be S$20 or more, paid through the Kris+ app at the merchant’s premises.
- You must be physically in Singapore, aged 18 or over, and link the accounts before paying.
- Each CapitaStar account can only be linked to one Kris+ account at a time.
- STAR$ usually credit instantly, but depending on the merchant can take up to 7 business days. KrisPay miles credit on Kris+’s usual instant timeline.
- Voided or refunded transactions earn nothing, and refunds after the fact can see both the miles and the STAR$ clawed back.
- Some merchants, products or transaction types may be excluded. CapitaStar sets the STAR$ earn rate for each purchase.
- You can unlink at any time in Kris+. Anything still pending at that point may not be credited.
- Kris+ and CapitaStar can change or end the programme with 30 days’ notice.

Summary
The ability to double-dip KrisPay miles and STAR$ at selected merchants in Singapore is a small extra, rather than a game-changer. At 5 STAR$ per S$1 you’re adding 0.5% in eCapitaVouchers, or 0.2 mpd if you convert to miles, on top of your Kris+ and credit card earning.
It only applies at Kris+ merchants inside participating CapitaLand malls, and only on transactions of S$20 or more. Kris+ partners with multiple outlets will only offer the double dip at their CapitaLand outlets.
There are already 107 merchants to choose from across 14 malls.
The launch offers make it worth linking now. In October, a single S$150 spend can earn a S$15 rebate plus 10X bonus STAR$, and the rebate continues at S$12 until March 2027.
Just remember to start the challenge in the Kris+ app, and be quick, as October’s rebate is capped at the first 1,000 members.
Linking takes under a minute, and in our case didn’t even need an OTP. There’s no downside, so if you’re a Kris+ user who ever shops at a CapitaLand mall, it’s worth doing once and then forgetting about it.
