Earn 6 mpd for online spend with UOB PRVI Miles Amex

Register now to earn 6 mpd on a range of online spend including groceries and food delivery with your UOB PRVI Miles Amex card in October, November and December
EXPIRED This article relates to an offer or promotion which has now expired.

UOB has a miles earning deal for holders of its PRVI Miles American Express card running from today (8th October 2020) until the end of 2020, with an excellent 6 miles per dollar earning rate for selected online transactions on the first S$500 spent per calendar month.

You will have to be among the first 1,200 cardholders to register in each monthly period, so act fast to take part in October, then remember to do so again in November and December to maximise your earnings.

No minimum spend is required. The deal is good for up to 9,000 miles earned, 6,900 of which are ‘bonus’ miles on top of your regular earn rate, for a range of useful online transactions.

This offer is valid for new and existing principal UOB PRVI Miles American Express card holders.

You must successfully register in each of the three promotion periods to participate in that period.

  • October 2020: Register using AOCT between 8-31 October
  • November 2020: Register using ANOV between 1-30 November
  • December 2020: Register using ADEC between 1-31 December

To register, principal cardholders must send an SMS to 77862 using their mobile number registered with UOB, in the following format (example for an October 2020 registration, which is now open):

AOCT [space] Last 4 alphanumeric digits of your NRIC or Passport Number

Example: If your NRIC is S1234567A, you will need to send “AOCT 567A” to 77862

Only the first 1,200 cardholders to successfully register in each of the promotion periods will be eligible to participate.

You can register to participate in any or all of the calendar months from October 2020 to December 2020. You will need to successfully register to participate for each of those calendar months in turn. In other words, your successful registration for the previous calendar month will not automatically qualify your registration for the following calendar month.

“All SMS Registrations for this Promotion which are not in the format prescribed, sent to an incorrect number, sent from a mobile number which is not registered with UOB, sent by the supplementary holder of the card, sent after the first 1,200 valid registrations received for the relevant calendar month, or sent outside of the applicable Registration Period will be null and void.”

The offer

Those who have successfully registered will then be eligible to earn 15 UNI$ per whole S$5 spent on the first S$500 of eligible online transactions which are successfully charged to your card during the promotion month you registered for.

Just remember this offer is limited to online transactions, and won’t count for physical in-store purchases at these merchants.

Qualifying spend on any supplementary cards does count for the promotion, but the monthly upper cap of S$500 spend applies per principal cardholder.

In other words your supplementary cardholders can assist you with the promotion, but they don’t get a dedicated cap of their own.

When does the bonus credit?

Initially these transactions will earn at the regular earn rate, equivalent to 1.4 miles per S$1 spent.

The bonus miles, paid as UNI$, will be credited to your account by 31st March 2021. That’s a three-month wait after the promotion has ended for the additional miles to arrive, so hopefully you don’t need them in a hurry.

Full terms and conditions for the deal can be found on the UOB website here. Do read those carefully as there is a list of excluded transactions.

Some useful online spend categories here, making this an easy promotion to take advantage of to earn an excellent 6 miles per dollar over the next three months, despite the relatively low spend cap.

Unfortunately you’ll need to act fast and be among the first 1,200 cardholders to register each month in order to participate, and that means registering pretty much on the first day of each eligible spend period.
