Kris+ has a new bonus miles earning offer running from now until 31st March 2021, with 3X miles at 10 of its new local partner merchants in Singapore when you make in-store purchases. That means earning up to 15 miles per dollar in addition to your regular credit card points accrual for the transaction.

In case it’s still new to you, last year we summarised the changes to KrisPay as it was rebranded into Kris+, though there’s very little to speak of with our golden rule still being:
EARN as you spend at Kris+ retailers, for extra miles on top of your credit card points, but don’t SPEND KrisPay miles, because the value is still awful at 0.67 cents per mile
Participating merchants
Here are the Kris+ merchants participating in this triple miles bonus when you earn miles through the app for your in-store purchases.
Merchant | MCC* | Usual rate | Promo rate |
Chagaan Cashmere | ????? | 15 mpd
DrHair | 5977 | 9 mpd | |
DrSpa | 5977 | 9 mpd | |
Creative Jewellery Studio | 5944 | 6 mpd
Beurre | 5812 | 3 mpd | |
Citystate Cruises | 4722 | 3 mpd
JDMIS | 8299 | 3 mpd | |
Kanada-Ya | 5812 | 3 mpd | |
Ola Beach Club | 5812 | 3 mpd
The Posture Lab | 7297 | 3 mpd |
* MCC codes are subject to change and sometimes vary between the Visa and Mastercard networks, even for the same merchant. These are based on the best information we have at the time of writing.
In all cases the earning rate shown on the Kris+ app already reflects the 3X bonus.

Which card to use
As you probably already know, with Kris+ you’ll earn KrisPay miles for your transaction (which you can then convert into KrisFlyer miles) on top of the usual points you’ll get when using your best credit card to make payment.
Kris+ earning is only for in-store (physical) transactions.
Where possible, you’ll want to be using a credit card offering a 4 mpd bonus rate when making in-store purchases at the above outlets, which you’ll then earn separately and in addition to up to 15 mpd through Kris+.
Simple option: Contactless
If you hold one of the following credit cards, you’re simplest option by far is to earn your highest bonus rate by making a contactless payment with the merchant, while also scanning to earn KrisPay miles through the Kris+ app.

More complex: MCC-specific
You do have to be a little careful with the HSBC Revolution card in the above table to ensure your contactless payment is in a valid MCC (most retail stores are valid, but in this offer merchants like DrHair and Creative Jewellery Studio will not be eligible).
The following cards have slightly more complicated MCC restrictions for physical in-store transactions, so they will earn their respective bonus rates for some of the participating merchants but not for others. We have highlighted the applicable MCCs for merchants taking part in this offer.

Note that the Citi Rewards and OCBC Titanium Rewards cards unfortunately will not earn their 4 mpd bonus rates at any of the participating merchants this time round, so we haven’t included them in the table.
Still unsure?
If you’re still not sure whether your bonus miles credit card is eligible for the merchant of your choice, our advice is to use your best card for general spend miles accrual, especially if the transaction is substantial.
For smaller amounts you may wish to take the chance, but remember most bonus category spend credit cards earn just 0.4 mpd when you make transactions that the bank decides don’t qualify.
How to earn miles with Kris+
If you’re still used to the old KrisPay app when earning miles for purchases, be aware that the function has been relocated slightly in the new Kris+ version.
You can now find it via the ‘Wallet’ icon at the bottom of the screen when using the app.

Just click on ‘Earn’ then type in the total amount spent at the retailer, hit next and allow the cashier to scan the QR code.
KrisPay miles earned through Kris+ can only be transferred to your KrisFlyer account within 7 days of the transaction. To do so, simply tap on the “Transfer to KrisFlyer” button which will appear on the miles earned confirmation screen or transaction details screen.

Remember that KrisPay miles earned per transaction can only be transferred to your account in their entirety. If you earned 100 KrisPay miles from a single Kris+ transaction, for example, the full 100 KrisPay miles must be transferred to your KrisFlyer account. If you have already spent some of your KrisPay miles earned, a partial transfer option is not available.
We therefore recommend transferring to KrisFlyer immediately following any Kris+ earning transaction, in case you either forget or make a mistake later.
Summary
A limited list for bonus miles earning this month, however if you’re planning a purchase from one of these new Kris+ merchants a 3X miles earning rate means netting 3 mpd to 15 mpd instantly through the app, in addition to points earning on your credit card.
For many of our readers that means at least an extra 1.2 mpd for the payment, but we’ve also highlighted some alternative options for selected bonus miles earning cards earning upwards of 4 mpd at some of these merchants, to maximise your miles.
Even if none of the bonus miles merchants participating in this promotion are of interest to you, remember that Kris+ now has over 160 earning partners across Singapore for in-store transactions, so you should be regularly picking up additional miles this way at various F&B, fashion and electronics stores.
