Kris+ Gastronomy Series promotion – earn up to 10 mpd on dining

Earn up to 6 mpd (10 mpd using the right credit card) at 10 restaurants in Singapore with Kris+ between now and 31 May.
EXPIRED This article relates to an offer or promotion which has now expired.

Kris+ has a new bonus miles earning promotion running between now and 31st May 2021 at 10 restaurants, with up to 4X the usual KrisPay miles rate on offer, either for a specially created set menu exclusive to members, or for any regular spend at these outlets.

The promotion allows you to earn up to 6 mpd through the Kris+ app, plus up to 4 mpd using a credit card awarding bonus miles for dining transactions, for a total effective earn rate of 10 mpd during the promotion.

Better still, you’ll also earn 3 Elite miles or 1 PPS Value per dollar spent at these merchants during the promotional period as part of KrisFlyer’s new offer to unlock status credits without flying, to either retain or upgrade your membership tier for a year, with double status credits (6 Elite miles or 2 PPS Value per dollar) offered to Elite and PPS club members between now and 21st April 2021.

^ UNA @ Alkaff Mansion bonus earn rate is applicable from 15th April 2021 only.

In all cases the earning rate shown on the Kris+ app already reflects the bonus rate (except for UNA at Alkaff Mansion, where the promotional rate kicks in from 15th April).

The bonus varies between a 2X, 3X or 4X multiplier, depending on the restaurant.

Special menus

Even though this campaign will offer the bonus rate for all spend at these merchants during the promotion period (see the full T&C here), Kris+ has arranged specially curated set menus at each of these restaurants, exclusively for Kris+ customers.

Here’s how it works:

  • Enjoy an exclusively curated menu at one of our Gastronomy Series Partners
  • Call to make a reservation to enjoy these special menus
  • Earn miles by paying in cash or by debit/credit card and earn up to 6 mpd

Here’s an example of one of the set menus.

Each restaurant has a specific special menu, and you can view all of them here.

Which card to use

As you probably already know, with Kris+ you’ll earn KrisPay miles for your transaction (which you can then convert into KrisFlyer miles) on top of the usual points you’ll get when using your best credit card to make payment.

Kris+ earning is only for in-store (physical) transactions.

Where possible, you’ll want to be using a credit card offering a 4 mpd bonus rate when settling your dining bill at these restaurants, which you’ll then earn separately and in addition to up to 6 mpd through Kris+.

Simple option:    Contactless

If you hold one of the following credit cards, you’re simplest option is to earn your highest bonus rate by making a contactless payment with the merchant, while also scanning to earn KrisPay miles through the Kris+ app.

More complex:    MCC-specific

  Still unsure?

If you’re still not sure whether your bonus miles credit card is eligible for the merchant of your choice, our advice is to use your best card for general spend miles accrual, especially if the transaction is substantial.

For smaller amounts you may wish to take the chance, but remember most bonus category spend credit cards earn just 0.4 mpd when you make transactions that the bank decides don’t qualify.

How to earn miles with Kris+

If you’re still used to the old KrisPay app when earning miles for purchases, be aware that the function has been relocated slightly in the new Kris+ version.

You can now find it via the ‘Wallet’ icon at the bottom of the screen when using the app.

Just click on ‘Earn’ then type in the total amount spent at the retailer, hit next and allow the cashier to scan the QR code.

KrisPay miles earned through Kris+ can only be transferred to your KrisFlyer account within 7 days of the transaction. To do so, simply tap on the “Transfer to KrisFlyer” button which will appear on the miles earned confirmation screen or transaction details screen.

Remember that KrisPay miles earned per transaction can only be transferred to your account in their entirety. If you earned 100 KrisPay miles from a single Kris+ transaction, for example, the full 100 KrisPay miles must be transferred to your KrisFlyer account. If you have already spent some of your KrisPay miles earned, a partial transfer option is not available.

We therefore recommend transferring to KrisFlyer immediately following any Kris+ earning transaction, in case you either forget or make a mistake later.

Some nice bonus earning rates of 3 mpd to 6 mpd for 10 restaurants across Singapore between now and the end of May 2021, when you scan your Kris+ app to earn additional miles at the payment stage.

There are even specially-priced set menus at each restaurant exclusive for Kris+ members, but even if you don’t fancy those you’ll still earn the bonus rates when choosing from the regular menus.

These will come in addition to the points you’ll earn on your credit card, for a total haul of 10 mpd at the top level, but even with a decent general spend card offering 1.2 mpd on local transactions you can still net a respectable 7.2 mpd during this offer.

Remember to transfer your KrisPay miles immediately into the KrisFlyer programme after earning, since if they become partially used by mistake or you forget after 7 days, they’ll be stuck in the Kris+ app, where their value is dismal.

Even if none of these 10 restaurants participating in the Gastronomy Series promotion are of interest to you, remember that Kris+ now has over 160 earning partners across Singapore for in-store transactions, so you should be regularly picking up additional miles this way at various F&B, fashion and electronics stores.

That’s perhaps even more relevant given the new offer to earn status credits towards KrisFlyer membership renewal or upgrade, since you’ll also be picking up Elite miles or PPS value for spending using cash or card at any Kris+ merchant.
