Earn 1,000 KrisFlyer miles and S$20 bonus when you sign up free to KrisShopper

KrisShop, SIA’s “omnichannel” retailer, has launched its own loyalty programme called KrisShopper, with four membership tiers giving additional benefits to regular shoppers, based on their annual qualifying spend through the platform.

The first 30,000 members to link their KrisFlyer accounts to KrisShopper will also be able to earn an easy 1,000 bonus KrisFlyer miles, with the first 5,000 also picking up a S$20 KrisShop promo code.

Furthermore, PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Silver and Gold members will receive an instant status match by linking their accounts by the end of June, allowing them to immediately tap on an enhanced year-round earn rate for KrisShop purchases over the next 12 months.

KrisShopper status tiers

KrisShopper has four status tiers, based on qualifying KrisShop.com spend.

Members can earn up to four KrisFlyer miles per S$1 eligible spend and double miles on their birthday month, enjoy complimentary services like shipping and gift wrapping, and gain early access to a range of perks from exclusive deals to new launches and promotions.

With every membership tier unlocked, KrisShoppers will also gain access to additional benefits, and can look forward to a shopping experience personalised for their preferences.

KrisShop

KrisShop normally awards 1.5 KrisFlyer miles per dollar spent, and here’s how the enhanced earn rates look within the KrisShopper status tiers, where you’ll instead earn between 2 mpd and 4 mpd, plus the other benefits on offer.

At the top end here as an Ambassador member you can net 4 miles per dollar for KrisShop spend, plus double miles when shopping during your birthday month, a year-round 10% discount on regular-priced items and free shipping in Singapore.

It remains to be seen how the enhanced earn rates within each tier will fit in with KrisShop’s regular promotional miles earning offers, assuming those deals continue to be offered.

For KrisShopper members, miles will be credited within five business days of your transaction (up to 30 business days for non-members).

Non-KrisShopper members will continue to earn 1.5 KrisFlyer miles per S$1 spent on the KrisShop platforms.

How to sign up

KrisShopper enrolment is free and registration is available on both KrisShop.com and singaporeair.com.

Assuming you’re an existing KrisFlyer member, you can link your KrisFlyer account to KrisShopper by first logging in to KrisShop.com with your KrisFlyer account, then opting in for KrisShopper via the pop-up window.

Alternatively you can log in to your KrisFlyer account on singaporeair.com, then click on Miles > How to Earn, locate the KrisShop section, and click on “Link account”.

Once you’ve successfully signed up to KrisShopper, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

Qualifying spend

Annual qualifying spend to climb the KrisShopper status ladder is defined as:

The amount paid in credit or debit card for purchases on KrisShop.com, KrisShop on Kris+ mobile app and KrisShop on KrisWorld as well as in-flight purchases on Singapore Airlines, after eligible discounts, KrisFlyer miles and/or vouchers have been applied.

Qualifying spend excludes GST and delivery charges.

Any KrisShop purchases you have made prior to becoming a KrisShopper member will not be counted towards your qualifying spend.

1,000 KrisFlyer miles + S$20 welcome bonus

From now until 30th June 2022, if you link your current KrisFlyer account to KrisShopper and subscribe to the latest news and offers, you’ll be eligible to receive the following gifts:

First 30,000 successful signups

• 500 KrisFlyer miles for linking your accounts
• 500 KrisFlyer miles for subscribing to news and updates

First 5,000 signups to achieve both of the above

• A S$20 KrisShop promo code, valid until 31st December 2022, with no minimum spend or brand exclusions

Bonus miles and the S$20 KrisShop.com promo code, if eligible, will be credited into your KrisFlyer account within 10 business days from the end of the promotional period (i.e. by 14th July 2022) at the latest.

Status match for Elite members

Between now and 30th June 2022, KrisShopper is running a status match for KrisFlyer Elite and PPS Club members, as shown below.

You must also subscribe to KrisShopper’s newsletter at the point of registration, to enjoy the status match.

Status is valid for 12 months, during which time you will be able to enjoy all the benefits like the enhanced miles earning rate associated with the tier, as shown above.

Upgrade to subsequent tiers will be based on the regular KrisShop qualifying spend requirement.

Following your first 12 months of matched KrisShopper status, your subsequent tier will be based on your qualifying spend in the first year.

For example, a KrisFlyer Elite Gold member who matched to Icon status then had S$6,000 qualifying KrisShop spend in year one will downgrade to Insider status at the end of the first year.

Rates stack with the Kris+ 9 mpd offer

The great thing about this deal is that once you’ve enrolled in KrisShopper (and status matched if applicable) the following miles bonuses will apply for KrisShop spend via the Kris+ app during the ongoing 9 mpd offer, running until 30th April 2022:

• KrisShopper Member: 9.5mpd (+0.5 mpd)
• KrisShopper Insider: 10 mpd (+1 mpd)
• KrisShopper Icon: 10.5 mpd (+1.5 mpd)
• KrisShopper Ambassador: 11.5 mpd (+2.5 mpd)

Bonus miles are included automatically at the payment stage on the KrisShop portal of the Kris+ app when you are logged on to your KrisFlyer account, once you are a KrisShopper member.

Effectively KrisShop is allowing the two deals to stack (9 mpd, plus your KrisShopper status-based earning increment on the regular 1.5 mpd earn rate for non-members), which is fantastic.

The fact that these miles increments stack automatically with the Kris+ offer means potential earning of 11.5 mpd for Ambassador members shopping via Kris+, plus up to 4 mpd from your bank with the right payment card, for a total effective earn rate of 15.5 mpd.

Which credit card to use at KrisShop

KrisShop purchases code under MCC 5309: Duty Free Stores, and that means you can tap into some 4 mpd earn rates with a variety of credit cards, subject to their monthly requirements and spending caps.

Those miles are issued by your bank, so they come on top of the regular 1.5 mpd, or your enhanced earn rate under the KrisShopper programme.

That means up to 8 mpd total effective earning year-round for Ambassador members on a wide range of products (4 mpd with status + 4 mpd from credit card), including KrisShop’s electronics, wine, spirits, beauty products and SIA airline exclusive items.

Here’s an example of the cards which should give you upwards of 4 mpd for KrisShop transactions (including when purchasing via Kris+).

Provided you are not purchasing at KrisShop via the Kris+ app, you can also consider using the Citi Rewards cards, for 4 mpd.

KrisShop has launched its own loyalty programme – KrisShopper – and there’s an easy 1,000 KrisFlyer miles and S$20 gift voucher to be had if you’re among the first to link your KrisFlyer account across to the scheme, which is free.

The 30,000-member cap on the introductory bonus miles is quite generous, but do try to link your account sooner rather than later, to be more sure of qualifying for this gift.

Those with existing KrisFlyer Elite or PPS Club memberships can also score a status match for the first year, giving them instant miles earning enhancements and other benefits when they spend year-round at KrisShop, in addition to bonus miles earning of up to 4 mpd through their credit cards.
