In December 2021 KrisShop launched most of its catalogue on Kris+, SIA’s “lifestyle app”, allowing you to earn 3 miles for every S$2 spent – effectively the same 1.5 mpd rate you get when you purchase directly through the KrisShop online store anyway.
What was interesting when the partnership first launched, however, was an excellent bonus earn rate of 9 mpd for all KrisShop purchases for the first four weeks of the new tie up, on top of the regular miles earning of up to 4 mpd through your credit card for the transaction.
The deal was then repeated in March, but now it’s back again in what looks set to be a regular bonus miles earning offer.
9 mpd is back again
Kris+ is offering an uncapped 9 miles per dollar spent on KrisShop items purchased via the Kris+ app from 7th April 2022 until 30th April 2022.

If Kris+ is new to you, bear in mind first of all that the KrisShop partnership in this case only works for those making purchases for delivery to Singapore addresses. It cannot be used to pre-order items for in-flight delivery, or for worldwide shipping, in both cases you would have to use KrisShop.com (earning 1.5 mpd).
You can download the Kris+ app via the links below.

If you’re new to Kris+ you can also earn S$8 cashback in the form of KrisPay miles to spend at merchants using promo code KPKS08 when you sign up.

You’ll then find the link to the KrisShop catalogue via the Kris+ homepage.

Example
For example, Apple AirPods Pro are priced at S$354.21 on KrisShop (S$379 including GST), which is the same price you’ll see at the Apple Store.

If you pay for this item via KrisShop’s regular website, you’ll earn 1.5 mpd on the pre-GST component (354 x 1.5 = 531 miles), in addition to those you’ll get through your credit card.
Shop via Kris+ during this promotion, however, and you’re looking at 9 mpd on the pre-GST amount (354 x 9 = 3,186 miles).

That’s six times the earn rate compared to a purchase via KrisShop’s own website, is completely instant, and comes on top of the miles you’ll otherwise earn from your bank for paying with a miles-earning credit card.
Differences between KrisShop via Kris+ and KrisShop.com
There are some differences to note when shopping on KrisShop via Kris+ rather than directly at KrisShop.com, including:
- KrisShop via Kris+ does not offer a full selection of items you’ll find at KrisShop.com, though most products are available through both channels.
- KrisShop via Kris+ delivery is to Singapore addresses only (KrisShop.com supports worldwide and in-flight delivery).
- KrisShop via Kris+ does not yet support the 10% discount for PPS Club members, or PPS Club Gift voucher redemption.
- KrisShop via Kris+ awards miles instantly (as KrisPay miles, which you can immediately transfer to your KrisFlyer account, but you must do so within seven days). KrisShop.com awards miles directly to your KrisFlyer account within 30 business days (though in reality, it only takes 24 hours).
Miles aren’t awarded on GST and shipping anymore
When KrisShop items first became available via the Kris+ app, miles were awarded for the GST component and any delivery charges, which wasn’t the case when ordering directly via KrisShop.com.
Unfortunately this oversight was quickly corrected, so you’ll normally net the same miles total whichever channel you use to order, except during promotional offers like this, when Kris+ clearly has the upper hand.
Up to 13 mpd with some cards
KrisShop purchases made via the Kris+ app will code under MCC 5309: Duty Free Stores, and that means you can tap into some 4 mpd earn rates with a variety of credit cards, subject to their monthly requirements and spending caps.
Those miles are issued by your bank, so they come on top of the 9 mpd Kris+ is dishing out with this promotion, and that means up to 13 mpd total effective earning on a wide range of products, including KrisShop’s electronics, wine, spirits, beauty products and SIA airline exclusive items.
Note: Total earning will never quite hit 13 mpd (9 + 4), because Kris+ is not awarding miles on the 7% GST component for any products purchased. Here’s an example of the cards which should give you upwards of 4 mpd for KrisShop via Kris+ in-app payment transactions.
Card | Mpd | Monthly cap |
![]() |
4.0 | S$2,000 per calendar month |

3.0 | No cap, subject to S$500 annual min. spend with SIA Group |

Be careful not to use Citi Rewards cards to make in-app payments on Kris+, since mobile wallet payments are specifically excluded from bonus miles earning, regardless of the merchant MCC.
4 mpd card example
For example, here’s what you’ll earn using an HSBC Revolution card at KrisShop via the Kris+ app for a S$100 + GST purchase (S$107 including GST), compared to doing so directly at KrisShop.com.

KrisShop.com
- 428 miles from HSBC (S$107.00 x 4 mpd)
- 150 regular miles from KrisShop (S$100.00 x 1.5 mpd)
- 578 miles total (5.4 mpd)

KrisShop via Kris+
- 428 miles from HSBC (S$107.00 x 4 mpd)
- 900 miles from Kris+ (S$100.00 x 9 mpd)
- 1,328 miles total (12.4 mpd)
That’s an impressive 12.4 mpd on a S$107 purchase, worth around S$25 ‘value back’ in KrisFlyer miles given our conservative valuation of 1.9 cents per mile.
Even if the product you’re purchasing is a few dollars more expensive than you can get it elsewhere, the miles you’re earning under this promotion might make it worth buying on the KrisShop catalogue via Kris+ under this 9 mpd offer.
Don’t forget to transfer straight to KrisFlyer miles
KrisPay miles earned through Kris+ can only be transferred to your KrisFlyer account within seven days of the transaction. To do so, simply tap on the “Transfer to KrisFlyer” button which will appear on the miles earned confirmation screen or transaction details screen.

You can do so later (within seven days), but why wait?
Remember that KrisPay miles earned per transaction can only be transferred to your account in their entirety. If you earned 1,000 KrisPay miles from a single Kris+ transaction, for example, the full 1,000 KrisPay miles must be transferred to your KrisFlyer account. If you have already spent some of your KrisPay miles earned, a partial transfer option is not available.
We therefore recommend transferring to KrisFlyer immediately following any Kris+ earning transaction, in case you either forget or make a mistake later.
Don’t pay using miles
As always, it’s really poor value to spend your KrisFlyer miles at KrisShop.com – where they’ll get you only 0.8 cents each off a purchase.
It’s even worse with Kris+, where each KrisPay mile only achieves the standard 0.67 cents rebate when spending miles – not far off the worst value you can get from them.
There’s currently an ongoing promo that includes a 16.67% instant miles back deal when you offset KrisShop purchases with KrisPay miles, but that still doesn’t make it worth considering (remember, no one’s KrisFlyer miles are expiring this year).
Always stick with earning, especially with this fantastic 9 mpd offer, and remember to transfer any KrisPay miles accrued into your KrisFlyer account straight away.
Summary
It’s great to see Kris+ return with this 9 mpd offer for KrisShop purchases for a second time following the original launch promotion in December, suggesting this kind of deal is set to be a regular occurrence.
It can certainly come in handy if there’s an item in the catalogue available through both the Kris+ and regular KrisShop channels that you’re interested in, and 9 mpd plus your credit card points can make it worthy of consideration even if you can pick up the same product slightly cheaper elsewhere.
Having said that, do check the prices elsewhere! KrisShop is rarely the cheapest option, and if you’re paying over the odds you need to make sure the additional miles are worth it.
Remember this deal also runs alongside a now year-round Kris+ earn rate of up to 9 mpd at a range of over 280 merchants across Singapore, from your morning coffee to a flat-screen TV.
You can also now earn 100 KrisPay miles, transferable to your KrisFlyer account, for every attended restaurant booking made through the new Makan+ portal by Chope.
