Singapore Airlines and Shangri-La Infinite Journeys have had a longstanding partnership allowing reciprocal miles and points transfers between the two programmes, while KrisFlyer Elite Gold, PPS Club and Solitaire PPS Club members get accelerated Jade status in Shangri-La Circle after a one-night stay.
On the flip side, Shangri-La Polaris, Diamond or Jade members get automatic KrisFlyer Elite Silver status (which frankly doesn’t get you much), with an accelerated upgrade to KrisFlyer Elite Gold status by taking one eligible SIA flight (for Polaris and Diamond members) or three eligible SIA flights (for Jade members).
While these perks certainly are useful, transferring miles into points and vice-versa between the two programmes has always represented pretty dreadful value.
Infinite Journeys 30% transfer bonus
Between 12.01am Singapore Time on 4th September 2026 and 11.59pm Singapore Time on 31st October 2026, Shangri-La members transferring their Circle Points to KrisFlyer miles and KrisFlyer members transferring their KrisFlyer miles to Circle Points, can do so with a 30% bonus in either direction.
Note that unlike the last couple of these promotions, which ran noon to noon, this one covers both dates in full.
The occasion is a milestone one – Infinite Journeys launched on 28th September 2016, so the partnership turns 10 this year.
From 4 September until 31 October 2026, enjoy 30% Bonus when you convert between Shangri-La Circle Points and KrisFlyer miles.
Shangri-La Circle
That’s a step up from the 25% bonus offered this time last year, though it still falls short of the 50% promotions we saw in 2023 and 2024 – and a long way short of the 100% bonus Singapore Airlines and Shangri-La offered to mark the partnership’s second anniversary back in 2018, when 12 miles bought you 2 Circle Points.

Transfers from KrisFlyer to Shangri-La Circle (SLC) points are subject to a very high minimum transfer quantity of 20,000 miles, so this will likely only be of interest if you have a large stash of expiring miles in your account.
A maximum of 180,000 KrisFlyer miles can be converted to Shangri-La Circle Points per calendar year, inclusive of this promotion.
A minimum of 1,000 Shangri-La Circle Points is required for each conversion to KrisFlyer miles, with no upper cap in that direction.
Both accounts need to be linked before you convert, to qualify for the bonus.
There’s no promo code or registration to worry about. The boosted rate is applied automatically and displays in the conversion form on the KrisFlyer website before you confirm, so you can see exactly what you’ll get.
Transfer delay?
The terms state that the bonus and the regular converted miles or points will be credited to your account up to 8 weeks after a successful conversion.
Whether that reflects how it will actually work in practice or is simply cautious, it’s good to allow for it. Don’t convert on the assumption you’ll have the points or miles available for a booking in the coming weeks.
Conversions can’t be amended or cancelled once made, and aren’t reversible or redeemable for cash.
Why ‘up to 40%’?
Singapore Airlines and Shangri-La are advertising this as a bonus of up to 40%, because there’s a further 10% on offer for the ten members who convert the most in each direction. That’s two separate leaderboards, ten places each, awarded on the total base miles or points converted during the promotion.
Ties are broken by whoever got there first, and the extra 10% lands within four weeks of the promotion closing.
Treat that as marketing rather than a feature of the offer. There’s no published threshold to aim at, no way to see where you stand, and you’d only find out weeks after the promotional transfer window closes. With a 180,000 miles annual cap on the KrisFlyer to Shangri-La side there’s a hard ceiling on how far you could push it in that direction anyway.
For everyone reading this, it’s really a 30% bonus, and that’s the figure we’ve used throughout.

Is it good value?
Sadly not, even with this transfer bonus in play.
15 SLC points gives you US$1 off your hotel bill or dining bill (even when not staying overnight), subject to a minimum redemption of 500 points. That makes each SLC point worth 6.67 US cents, which is 8.46 Singapore cents at current exchange rates.
That means a transfer of 20,000 KrisFlyer miles into 1,666 SLC points at the regular conversion rate will net you a saving of S$141, giving you a value per KrisFlyer mile of just 0.70 cents.
It gets little better during this 30% bonus promotion, with 20,000 KrisFlyer miles converting to 2,166 SLC points, worth S$183, a value per KrisFlyer mile of 0.92 cents.
Even if you were one of the ten members landing the full 40%, 20,000 miles would give you 2,332 points worth S$197 – 0.99 cents per mile. In other words, the very best outcome available here merely matches the 1 cent Singapore Airlines already pays you for miles at Kris+, KrisShop, Pelago or against a cash fare, with no minimum transfer to worry about.

Where necessary in this table, a miles redemption value for a Singapore Airlines flight is assumed at 1.9 cents.
The bonus does lift this transfer option out of the basement – at 0.92 cents it now sits above vRooms, yuu Points and Marriott Bonvoy, where the regular 0.70 cents left it languishing near the bottom. But it’s still 8% short of the 1 cent floor Singapore Airlines applies across its own platforms, and it demands a hefty 20,000-mile minimum transfer.
In the other direction, transferring Shangri-La points to KrisFlyer miles remains poor value.
For example 1,000 SLC points are worth S$84.60 in the programme, but even during this 30% bonus promotion these will only convert to 1,625 KrisFlyer miles, worth no more than around S$31 even at a generous 1.9 cents per mile valuation against future flight redemptions!

That also includes Scoot flight redemptions via its fixed-price award chart, which can come in at decent value when fares are high but Saver space remains available.
Unless you have no use for your Shangri-La points, you should not be considering a transfer in the SLC > KrisFlyer direction, even during this promotion.
Summary
Generally there’s no reason to transfer your KrisFlyer miles to Shangri-La points or vice-versa, even though the longstanding option has been available for many years, due to the poor transfer ratios on offer.
This 30% promotional transfer bonus moves the needle a little further than last year’s 25%, but not far enough – other more flexible cash-out options for expiring KrisFlyer miles still come in at better value, and with nothing like the 20,000 mile minimum transfer quantity.
It also still makes no sense to transfer in the SLC > KrisFlyer direction, even during this bonus, unless you literally have no use for these points any more.
As always, try to lock in a flight redemption with your expiring miles if you can – it’s almost always the best value you’ll get, compared to ‘cash-out’ options like this.
