Unusually, Singapore Airlines has added an extra offer to their KrisFlyer ‘Spontaneous Escapes’ promotion first announced last week, for travel during March 2018. It’s a nice deal if you’re planning to visit Bali next month, as you can now do so for 50% off travelling on selected flights in both economy and business class with Singapore Airlines and SilkAir.

The rules remain the same – redemptions need to be booked by 28th February 2018 to qualify for the discounts, so you don’t have long to act on this one, and unlike regular KrisFlyer redemptions these flights, once booked, aren’t changeable or refundable.

A recap on the rules

Here’s a summary of the T&Cs:

  • Book before 28th February 2018
  • Valid for flights from 1st – 31st March 2018
  • Only valid on “Saver” redemptions
  • Changes and cancellation are not permitted for bookings made under this promotion
  • All sectors must be available on the offer (e.g. if the return sector is unavailable on the correct flight – the cost for the whole trip jumps! Book one-ways instead and still save.)

Waitlist redemptions are applicable for the discount. That means you can add one of these flights as a waitlist redemption for the discounted rate. If it comes up for confirmation by 28th February, it’s yours for the lower rate. If it clears on 1st March or later, you’ll have to pay the normal rate.

Booking tip

We’ve said it before – but it’s not made obvious on the website that the discounted miles rate is being applied – have faith! Click the ‘Saver’ rate and then check the drop-down box, where the discounted rate is then shown, if your flight is applicable for discount:

The discounted rate is shown only after the flight is selected.

Remember, there are still many other routes in the Spontaneous Escapes promotion for March, and the full list of those can be found in our article here.

These include the brand new A380 business class on the Sydney route (SQ221 SIN-SYD and SQ232 SYD-SIN). We reviewed the new product last month and were impressed with the offering, and at 40,600 miles each way it’s also a great deal if you can find dates which suit you.

Remember…

If you can’t secure a return flight with the discount, book a one-way instead, then pay the usual saver rate for the other sector. On a return flight with this offer, as soon as one of the two flights falls outside the promotion, it re-prices the whole thing to the higher rate, which will cost you more.

Happy searching and enjoy Bali in March!
