OCBC is back with an 8 mpd offer for Titanium Rewards cardholders called “Time to Double Down”, allowing you to earn 20X OCBC$ (8 KrisFlyer miles) for every dollar spent at six local merchants until the end of November 2020, capped at S$500 spend per cardholder.
This 8 mpd promotion is potentially worth 2,000 additional KrisFlyer miles over and above your usual earning at 4 mpd merchants, but you’ll have to act quick since it’s capped at the first 5,000 to register.
If you hold this card though – it’s definitely worth trying to be among one of those for a relatively easy miles boost even from home during these COVID-19 times since both online and offline transactions will count.
Be among the first 5,000 Titanium Rewards cardholders to successfully register through this e-form (open since 00:00 5th October 2020) in order to qualify.
You must enter your 16-digit card number and the mobile phone number associated with your card account in order to register.
Once successfully registered you’ll then be entitled to 8 miles per dollar spent at the following six merchants between until 30th November 2020:
|8 mpd merchants
(5th Oct 2020 – 30th Nov 2020)
These transactions include face-to-face and online purchases, however they do exclude transactions relating to insurance premiums and any instalment payment plans.
Transactions must be posted to your account during the promotion period, so be careful of last-minute purchases towards the end of November 2020 as it can take a few days for transactions to actually appear on your statement.
How it works
The program works in conjunction with the card’s existing 10X OCBC$ (4 mpd) rate for some of these six merchants (the rate you’d earn anyway), meaning you’re getting an additional 10X OCBC$ when you make a purchase.
Since June 2020, OCBC credit cards now award miles only for whole blocks of S$5 spending, so you’re actually getting 50X OCBC$ per S$5 spending normally at 4 mpd merchants (5X OCBC$ per S$5 initially then 45X OCBC$ bonus), plus under this deal a further 50X OCBC$ per S$5 spending later on.
Overall, the offer is capped at 5,000 additional OCBC$, so the deal tops out at S$500 spend.
Bonus miles from this offer will be credited by 31st December 2020. Full terms and conditions for the promotion are available here.
8 miles per dollar is hard to come by these days, since the Citi Apple Pay promotion ended in 2018, so if you hold the OCBC Titanium Rewards card and manage to register as one of the first 5,000 cardholders, this promotion is a great way to channel some of your spend at these merchants between now and the end of November 2020 for up to 2,000 additional miles over your usual earn rate.
Remember that OCBC$ only transfer to KrisFlyer.
Annual fee: $192.60/yr (first 2 years free)
