Register at midnight for a fresh new month of 6 mpd online with UOB PRVI Miles Amex

UOB PRVI Miles Amex cardholder? Don't forget to register by SMS at midnight tonight to get a fresh new 6 mpd month for online transactions!

Back in mid-August we wrote about how you can earn an excellent 6 miles per dollar for selected online transactions on the first S$500 spent per calendar month with your UOB PRVI Miles Amex card, provided you’re among the first 1,200 cardholders to register in each of three monthly periods.

Well here’s a timely reminder, in just a few hours it’s time to register for December 2020, so set the alarm clock for midnight then send the SMS through to maximise your earnings for the final month of the promotion!

No minimum spend is required. The deal is good for up to 9,000 miles earned, 6,900 of which are ‘bonus’ miles on top of your regular earn rate, for a range of useful online transactions.

Registration

This offer is valid for new and existing principal UOB PRVI Miles American Express card holders.

You must successfully register in each of the three promotion periods to participate in that period. October and November 2020 are both finished, so here is the last remaining period:

  • December 2020: Register using ADEC between 1-31 December

To register, principal cardholders must send an SMS to 77862 using their mobile number registered with UOB, in the following format (example for the December 2020 registration, which opens at midnight tonight):

ADEC [space] Last 4 alphanumeric digits of your NRIC or Passport Number

Example: If your NRIC is S1234567A, you will need to send “ADEC 567A” to 77862

Only the first 1,200 cardholders to successfully register in each of the promotion periods will be eligible to participate.

You can register to participate in any or all of the calendar months, meaning December 2020 is still left (even if you missed October, November or both).

Importantly, your successful registration for the previous calendar month (i.e. November) will not automatically qualify your registration for the following calendar month.

“All SMS Registrations for this Promotion which are not in the format prescribed, sent to an incorrect number, sent from a mobile number which is not registered with UOB, sent by the supplementary holder of the card, sent after the first 1,200 valid registrations received for the relevant calendar month, or sent outside of the applicable Registration Period will be null and void.”

The offer

Those who have successfully registered will then be eligible to earn 15 UNI$ per whole S$5 spent on the first S$500 of eligible online transactions which are successfully charged to your card during the promotion month you registered for.

Just remember this offer is limited to online transactions, and won’t count for physical in-store purchases at any merchants.

Qualifying spend on any supplementary cards does count for the promotion, but the monthly upper cap of S$500 spend applies per principal cardholder.

In other words your supplementary cardholders can assist you with the promotion, but they don’t get a dedicated cap of their own.

When does the bonus credit?

Initially these transactions will earn at the regular earn rate, equivalent to 1.4 miles per S$1 spent.

The bonus miles, paid as UNI$, will be credited to your account by 31st March 2021. That’s a three-month wait after the promotion has ended for the additional miles to arrive, so hopefully you don’t need them in a hurry.

T&Cs

Full terms and conditions for the deal can be found on the UOB website here. Do read those carefully as there is a list of excluded transactions.

Summary

Some very useful online spend categories here, making this an easy promotion to take advantage of to earn an excellent 6 miles per dollar during December 2020, despite the relatively low spend cap.

You’ll need to act fast and be among the first 1,200 cardholders to register, and that means doing so at midnight tonight if you can, to stand the best chance of taking advantage for the final month of the promotion.
