Kris+, the recently revamped KrisPay app, has a bonus miles earning offer running from 14th December to 25th December 2020, with double miles at over 25 local retailers when you make in-store purchases. That means earning up to 6 miles per dollar in addition to your regular credit card points accrual for the transaction, meaning up to 10 mpd in total with the right credit card.

We recently summarised the changes to KrisPay as it was rebranded into Kris+, though there’s very little to speak of with our golden rule still being:
EARN as you spend at Kris+ retailers, for extra miles on to of your credit card points, but don’t SPEND KrisPay miles, because the value is still awful at 0.67 cents per mile
Participating merchants
Here are the Kris+ merchants participating in this double miles bonus when you earn miles through the app for your in-store purchases.
Note: Don’t get confused with the 25% miles-back offer being run in parallel with this earn promotion, for a different range of merchants. As usual, that deal represents poor value and should be avoided! The earning rate shown on the app already reflects the promotional rate during this period, but will revert back to the usual rate for these merchants from 26th December 2020.

There are a range of merchants in some useful categories here in the run up to Christmas, including wine, clothes, and electrical goods.
Kris+ has expanded significantly over the last year or so and now boasts over 150 partners, with some good earn rates even for merchants not included in this offer. Full terms and conditions for this promotion are available here.
Which card to use
As you probably already know, with Kris+ you’ll earn KrisPay miles for your transaction (which you can then convert into KrisFlyer miles) on top of the usual points you’ll get when using your best credit card to make payment.
Kris+ earning is only for in-store (physical) transactions.
Where possible, you’ll want to be using a credit card offering a 4 mpd bonus rate when making in-store purchases at the above outlets, which you’ll then earn separately and in addition to up to 6 mpd through Kris+ for a total effective earn rate of up to 10 mpd with some merchants.
Simple option: Contactless
If you hold one of the following credit cards, you’re simplest option by far is to earn your highest bonus rate by making a contactless payment with the merchant, while also scanning to earn KrisPay miles through the Kris+ app.
Card | Earn Rate |

More complex: MCC-specific
Although you do have to be a little careful with the HSBC Revolution card in the above table to ensure your contactless payment is in a valid MCC (most stores are valid), the following cards have more complicated MCC restrictions for physical in-store transactions, so they will earn their respective bonus rates for some of the participating merchants but not for others.

Still unsure?
If you’re still not sure whether your bonus miles credit card is eligible for the merchant of your choice, our advice is to use your best card for general spend miles accrual, especially if the transaction is substantial.
For smaller amounts you may wish to take the chance, but remember most bonus category spend credit cards earn just 0.4 mpd when you make transactions that the bank decides don’t qualify.
The ‘Earn Button’ has moved
If you’re still used to the old KrisPay app when earning miles for purchases, be aware that the function has been relocated slightly in the new Kris+ version.
You can now find it via the ‘Wallet’ icon at the bottom of the screen when using the app.

Just click on ‘Earn’ then type in the total amount spent at the retailer, hit next and allow the cashier to scan the QR code.
KrisPay miles earned through Kris+ can only be transferred to your KrisFlyer account within 7 days of the transaction. To do so, simply tap on the “Transfer to KrisFlyer” button which will appear on the miles earned confirmation screen or transaction details screen.

Remember that as before KrisPay miles earned per transaction can only be transferred to your account in their entirety. If you earned 100 KrisPay miles from a single Kris+ transaction, for example, the full 100 KrisPay miles must be transferred to your KrisFlyer account. If you have already spent some of your KrisPay miles earned, a partial transfer option is not available.
We therefore recommend transferring to KrisFlyer immediately following any Kris+ earning transaction, in case you either forget or make a mistake later.
Kris+ app
If you’re already a KrisPay user with the mobile app installed on your device, you should find it has automatically migrated to the Kris+ version, or will do so at the next update.
If you don’t have the app already, you can download it at the links below.

Summary
This isn’t quite as good as the Kris+ ‘rebrand’ launch deal, where over 45 local merchants picked up 3X miles earning, but there are still some nice rates on offer at a range of merchants in the run up to Christmas.
Don’t be tempted by the Kris+ 25% miles back offer, being run in parallel with this earn promotion, because you shouldn’t be converting your KrisFlyer miles into the app to use in-store.

That’s the golden rule, only ever earn KrisPay miles using the Kris+ app then remember to transfer them straight into your KrisFlyer account before you forget, otherwise they may become stuck there.
