Kris+ is offering entries into a prize draw over the next few weeks for customers of one of its partner merchants iStudio, the largest Apple reseller in Singapore, which also offers a range of electronic goods and accessories from the likes of Belkin, Gear4, and mophie.
iStudio has been a Kris+ partner since May 2022, and allows you to accrue 1 mpd on all products when making payment via Apple Pay or Google Pay via the app, though unfortunately this was cut from 3 mpd back in May this year.
Nonetheless, the earning boost still makes iStudio a good option for earning extra miles when purchasing Apple (or other) products, especially for big-ticket items like phones and laptops.
The retailer is even offering the latest iPhone 15 Pro on pre-order for shipping or in-store collection, and if you’re travelling soon the outlets at Changi Airport’s T1, T2, T3 and T4 transit areas even allow you to buy tax-free (8% saving) and still earn 1 mpd on top of your credit card points.
104,000 KrisFlyer miles promo
Kris+ and iStudio are offering one winner a grand total of 104,000 miles in a new prize draw giveaway.
Every time you spend S$80 or more (before GST) on any product at an iStudio Singapore outlet between 22nd September 2023 and 31st December 2023 using the Kris+ app to earn an additional 1 mpd on the purchase, you’ll earn one entry into the prize draw.
You may recall that a similar (but more generous) offer with a 214,000 miles prize was running last year.
You can accrue as many entries into the draw as you like, but you cannot split a larger transaction into smaller payments to gain multiple entries (e.g. a single S$320 + GST transaction is still only one entry, not four).
You are not allowed to split your payment for a single purchase.
The winner of the miles will be announced via iStudio’s social media platforms. The winner will receive 104,000 KrisPay miles in their Kris+ account, and has the option to instantly transfer these 1:1 to KrisFlyer miles, but must do so within seven days of them being credited.
Terms and conditions for the offer are available here.
Note that you’ll also get an entry whenever redeeming KrisPay miles through the Kris+ app in whole or part for your S$80+ iStudio purchase, but we do not recommend using your miles this way, since you’ll get a lousy 0.67 cents value per mile.
Our advice? Only earn miles using the Kris+ app where possible, then transfer them straight to your KrisFlyer account (time limit: 7 days), where you’ll get best value from them for a flight redemption in future.
What does 104,000 miles get you?
104,000 KrisFlyer miles is enough to redeem a Saver return flight from Singapore to Japan or South Korea in Business Class on Singapore Airlines, which includes the following cities:
While that’s iStudio’s example redemption, you’re certainly not limited to that option and in fact the lucky winner can use these 104,000 miles however they like.
Alternative awards you can achieve with 104,000 miles would include:
- A return trip for two pax in Saver Business Class from Singapore to Japan or South Korea.
- Two round-trips from Singapore to Manila, Bangkok or Phuket in Saver Business Class.
- Three Saver Business Class redemptions from Singapore to Hong Kong or Taipei.
- A Saver Business Class redemption from Singapore to London (or Brussels, where ample award space is available).
There are 22 iStudio store locations across Singapore, including four currently available in the transit area at Changi Airport for tax-free purchases.

iStudio also offers Kris+ customers a 10% discount on third-party products and accessories (i.e. non-Apple-branded), or 15% for PPS Club members.
Which card to use
iStudio purchases via the Kris+ app code under MCC 5732: Electronics Stores, allowing you to tap into the following bonus earn rates with some Singapore-issued credit cards.
|Card||Earn rate||Notes /
(see our review)
|4 mpd||On on up to S$2,000 of online spend per calendar month, including when paying at a merchant using Apple Pay or Google Pay via the Kris+ app (all MCCs).|
(see our review)
|4 mpd||On contactless payments at electrical goods stores (MCC 5732), capped at S$1,000 per calendar month.|
|OCBC Titanium Rewards
(see our review)
|4 mpd||For in-store transactions at electrical goods stores (MCC 5732), capped at S$12,000 per membership year.|
(see our review)
|3 mpd||No minimum spend
Even if you don’t hold one of these cards, or you’ve already maxed out their monthly or annual bonus category spend where applicable, a relatively mundane general spend option like the Citi PremierMiles will still net you 1.2 mpd, plus the 1 mpd from Kris+ itself, for a total effective earning of 2.2 mpd at iStudio.
If you’re in the market for an Apple product or an accessory purchase, iStudio already offers a bonus of 1 mpd when you pay using the Kris+ app, on top of your regular credit card points.
There’s now an added incentive, which is a prize draw entry for every Kris+ purchase at iStudio of S$80 (excluding GST) or more between now and the end of December, with the winner picking up a generous 104,000 KrisFlyer miles, enough to fly to Japan and back in Business Class on a Saver award.
