Last week there was a great deal extended to KrisFlyer miles earners in Singapore, with up to 9 mpd on offer at 46 retailers across the country when you make in-store purchases, as part of the launch celebrations for Kris+, the newly branded KrisPay app.
That’s triple the usual miles earning rate at these outlets.
Good news is there are still four days to take advantage of this uncapped offer, including the upcoming weekend, so take a look through the merchant list in case you’ve got anything from wine, shoes, clothes or electronics to stock up on, or are simply keen for a miles earning lunch or dinner!

Participating merchants
Here are the Kris+ merchants participating in this triple miles bonus when you earn miles through the app for your in-store purchases.
The earning rate shown on the app already reflects the promotional rate during this period, but will revert back to the usual rate for these merchants at midnight on Sunday.

* MCC codes are subject to change and sometimes vary between the Visa and Mastercard networks. These are based on the best information we have at the time of writing.
There are a range of merchants in some useful categories here, including dining, wine, cosmetics, clothes, shoes and electronics.

Which card to use
As you probably already know, with Kris+ you’ll earn KrisPay miles for your transaction (which you can then convert into KrisFlyer miles) on top of the usual points you’ll get when using your best credit card to make payment.
Kris+ earning is only for in-store (physical) transactions.
Where possible, you’ll want to be using a credit card offering a 4 mpd bonus rate when making in-store purchases at the above outlets, which you’ll then earn separately and in addition to up to 9 mpd through Kris+ for a total effective earn rate of up to 13 mpd with some merchants.
Simple option: Contactless
If you hold one of the following credit cards, you’re simplest option by far is to earn your highest bonus rate by making a contactless payment with the merchant, while also scanning to earn KrisPay miles through the Kris+ app.
Card | Earn Rate |

4 mpd | On mobile contactless transactions (don’t tap the physical card), capped at S$1,110 per calendar month. | |

More complex: MCC-specific
Although you do have to be a little careful with the HSBC Revolution card in the above table to ensure your contactless payment is in a valid MCC (most stores are valid), the following cards have more complicated MCC restrictions for physical in-store transactions, so they will earn their respective bonus rates for some of the participating merchants but not for others.

Still unsure?
If you’re still not sure whether your bonus miles credit card is eligible for the merchant of your choice, our advice is to use your best card for general spend miles accrual, especially if the transaction is substantial.
For smaller amounts you may wish to take the chance, but remember most bonus category spend credit cards earn just 0.4 mpd when you make transactions that the bank decides don’t qualify.
The ‘Earn Button’ has moved
If you’re still used to the old KrisPay app when earning miles for purchases, be aware that the function has been relocated slightly in the new Kris+ version.
You can now find it via the ‘Wallet’ icon at the bottom of the screen when using the app.

Just click on ‘Earn’ then type in the total amount spent at the retailer, hit next and allow the cashier to scan the QR code.
KrisPay miles earned through Kris+ can only be transferred to your KrisFlyer account within 7 days of the transaction. To do so, simply tap on the “Transfer to KrisFlyer” button which will appear on the miles earned confirmation screen or transaction details screen.

Remember that as before KrisPay miles earned per transaction can only be transferred to your account in their entirety. If you earned 100 KrisPay miles from a single Kris+ transaction, for example, the full 100 KrisPay miles must be transferred to your KrisFlyer account. If you have already spent some of your KrisPay miles earned, a partial transfer option is not available.
We therefore recommend transferring to KrisFlyer immediately following any Kris+ earning transaction, in case you either forget or make a mistake later.
Kris+ app
If you’re already a KrisPay user with the mobile app installed on your device, you should find it has automatically migrated to the Kris+ version, or will do so at the next update.
If you don’t have the app already, you can download it at the links below.

Summary
This is by far the most extensive range of Kris+ miles earning deals we’ve ever seen, so don’t miss out if there are retailers of interest to you on the list, with only four days left to take advantage.
Whether you’re picking up a cappuccino at Mellower Coffee, a salad at Paris Baguette or splashing out on a S$1,000+ laptop from Harvey Norman, additional miles are always welcome and this extensive range of 3X earning partners gives you a great opportunity to top up your balance.

Remember the golden rule, only ever earn KrisPay miles using the Kris+ app then remember to transfer them straight into your KrisFlyer account before you forget, otherwise they may become stuck there.
